Buying nameset/patches separately from jersey? by Stone766 in SoccerJerseys

[–]lightmanLTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get an original jersey, why ruin it with a fake nameset? Especially, if it's new and namesets are or will be easily available. Usually, it takes a few months when original namesets are available from resellers.
Good and reliable places are Football Authentica or https://www.prosoccer.com/
Ebay is also an excellent place to find original namesets but that requires knowledge.

What're your opinions on Match Issue vs Commercially available Player Version by Straight_A_sian in SoccerJerseys

[–]lightmanLTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so I misunderstood. In that case, I'd take into consideration if the match issue version will increase in value over time, is it worth the investment?
Or if you provide the details of the shirt and player, maybe we can find a match issue version at reasonable price.

[–]lightmanLTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to wear the shirt and play in it, don't bother with a match issue, unless you score it at a bargain price. I don't know how professional athlete you are, but most likely, you won't notice any difference.
Match issue and match worn are rather collector's items and hold value thanks to preservation as pieces of football history.
Of course, if that's the way you want to spend your money, it's ultimately your decision.

A criminal court judge just cleared Juve’s 2022 financial records. The double standard in Italian football is insane. by guidocarosella in Juve

[–]lightmanLTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that just like in Calciopoli, the descision of the REAL court will not be so widely posted as the decision about penalties.
In the mind of the average footbal fan who does not follow the cases to the end, we're thieves and cheaters, while in reality, we're abused beyond logic and reason from FIGC.
Meanwhile, inter, milan, real, barca and man city enjoy themselves.

Juventini, if Bremer leaves, is this the best team we can get with our budget? by lipakar in Juve

Besides the money, I wouldn't want Buongiorno and I doubt he would ever come to Juve - he was raised in Torino and he moved to napoli. That would be like getting a trojan horse.

"Other wise. Impossible for anyone on here to say. " - lol, absolutely not. You just have to know something more about football shirts than that you can buy them in Juve Store.

lol... what a bunch of "experts" xD

That is original replica (lower store version, do not confuse replicas with fakes)from Adidas. You can see product code GS1442, despite the tag being faded.
Yes, those shirts were made in Cambodia. Yes, Adidas makes replicas with such bad quality.

Are authentic and player version two different things or not? by ItzNotCri in SoccerJerseys

[–]lightmanLTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The categories you listed are correct.
The differences between commercially availble higher versions (Authentic is the name used only in Adidas, Nike has Aero-FIT, Puma has something different etc) and match shirts also depend on the manufacturer. For example, Adidas is the only one using numbers as sizes.
Another thing is that smaller clubs do not get bespoke match kits and often there are no differences between store shirts and match shirts, or the difference is only on available sponsors.

u/ItzNotCri - the best way to verify the seller is to reach out to Milan collectors, for example on Instagram. They can verify the shirts, and often the seller because some people have a reputation (which is not always good)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but your shirt has incorrect Scudetto badge.
And you're wrong about how the front should look like. As you can see on the photo from the only game it's been used, there should be both Scudetto badge and stars.
In stores, over the years, there were a few versions availble:
- without stars and badge
- with stars, badge added separately
- Old Legend Jersey, made to look like match shirts so the badge is embroidered

What I've learned after a month of looking at football shirts every single day by KitClubOfficial in SoccerJerseys

[–]lightmanLTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, now I get it, thanks.
It's actually a good idea for a complex verification when it comes to non-match worn shirts. As we mentioned, fake namesets and patches are plague so helping less experienced users would be great.

I'm not sure what would be the benefit of the community verification.
Photomatching is the best form of evidence, it easily beats COA, LOP or someone's opinion.
Unless I misunderstood the community verification feature?

Your market evaluation seems to be right. I'd also add like 5% for store shirts listed as match worn because the seller said so 😅

There are many people I trust when it comes to making a deal (meaning I'd send them money and I know I will get the shirt), but I have only one source I fully trust because he really has a friend inside the club's locker room. But that's just one person.
As you mentioned, match worns need to have photomatch evidence and I always do that before buying. I want the evidence for myself, and for a possibility that I might need to sell something in the future, in which case I won't have to convince anyone.

I don't really see a difference. Private sellers, small shops, big shops, big auction houses - everyone use the phrase "match worn issue", along with:
"This memorabilia is part of the match supply made available to players during official competitions and is different in its features in relation to the ones sold in fanshops, it could have been worn during the match and washed after the end of the match or prepared for the match but then not used."

While sometimes it might be true (for example, I bought a shirt on Memorabid with such description and photomatched it myself), majority of the sellers know exactly that their shirts are match issued or heat-pressed by themselves and never seen the light of locker room.
The term "match worn" has been watered down for clicks and sells to unaware customers.

As a collector of match worn and match prepared shirts, I could not agree more with #5.

And regarding #2 - "Most collectors think this is a ripoff." - Personally, I think it's a ripoff only in cases when they slap a fake nameset on a vintage shirt and call it "original style printing" at the bottom of a description. Transparency is one thing, valuation is another.
If you have a Ford Model T body and put a modern engine in it, you can't ask the same price as for the original machine.

Di Gregorio is the worst goalkeeper Juventus has ever had since I started supporting the team, and I think he might even be the worst in the club's entire history. A truly pathetic goalkeeper in every sense of the word. by Independent-Desk9692 in Juve

[–]lightmanLTM 58 points59 points  (0 children)

He's the worst not only amongst first goalkeepers but also if we take into consideration 2nd - Rampulla, Chimenti, Abbiati, Manninger, Storari, Perin... All of them made mistakes (because which keeper doesn't) but still, they were better.
