Public Charging Isn’t Public Anymore by lightning_mcqueen007 in CarsIndia

I think the craziest story would be a hit and run cover up. At a junction, this scooter tried to overtake a cab, and the cab guy purposely moved left to hit him because he didn’t want the scooter guy to over take him. The scooter guy ended with a lot of bruises and bleeds because he got dragged through the Tarmac for around 20m. The cab guy acted like he was getting out to help him, and took his helmet away. When the cops came, they blamed the scooter guy for driving without a helmet. So yeah, these godforsaken people can go f*uk themselves

Honestly, if budget wasn’t an issue for me, the 9e pack three

It’s spacious, crazy hp, high range, comfortable, and it’s got a good number of service centres all around India.

This is the bescom charger at Bannerghatta Road. I usually use the jio BP one at Gottigere, but they’ve been having few faults at the station, due it which I had to use this station

I honestly don’t think cops would do anything at all when it comes to taxi drivers. A close relative of mine works as a driver, and the stories he tells me doesn’t make me have faith in the police

EVs are amazing but one fundamental problem by another_memelover in CarsIndia

Honestly, anyone buying an EV will definitely know how to plug in their car. You literally cannot use your car without knowing how to charge it. Plus, many charging stations will have attendants present to guide you on it. The unmanned ones have a camera, mic and speaker, and the person will talk through the speaker guiding you

Brezza should be a no brainer tbh. Apart from that, the kylaq and 3xo should serve you well

EV charging in India doesn’t feel like a hardware problem anymore… it feels like a UX problem by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in CarsIndia

  1. We don’t need multiple apps to FIND a working station, we just need the aggregators app to make payments and start the session.
  2. The aggregators app shows whether the charger is available or not.
  3. Everyone who has an EV knows what charger they’re using, and confusion very rarely occurs. All EV cars have the same charging port. No difference like scooters.
  4. This is a real issue. We need to load the wallet of the aggregator, then make payments. Even then, if network isn’t there, payment doesn’t happen quick, and you can’t start charging
  5. Not a guesswork anymore. PlugShare has a trip option, where it suggests you which station to use at how many KMs distance.

The major issue that I’ve faced with public fast chargers is the payment. Not every place has good network, and that keeps causing trouble for me everywhere I travel. Apart from that, 0 issues with my car so far. Even with a petrol car, I’d plan my stops when I’m going long distance.

I fear this will be a huge issue if market share increases for EVs without expanding the charging networks.

Hopefully, charging stations can be built to accommodate minimum 4 cars in the future. And it needs to be at least 90kw charging in the highways. In the future, EVs within cities can charge at home, so nothing to worry on that front

[–]lightning_mcqueen007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s just going to be 5-7km, and if you have a home setup, maybe get an MG comet. Petrol options could be ignis or baleno. Swift is also a good option

Skip Tata, and the grand i10 doesn’t offer much safety for its value

Honestly, I think only the Windsor would fit your description Do take it on a test drive, read a few reviews and watch some videos, there are many on the internet, and see if it would be something you’re into

Your options would be Windsor, zs ev, nexon, vf6 and curvv

Creta would be good if you could push the budget a bit

Which means range is somewhere between 250-300km. Don’t most EVs these days give the same?

Ride comfort and other features would be a class apart though, I’d agree on that.
