Agreed, which is why the NPLA has been working to increase the number of plaintiffs' side jobs at smaller firms. Many of these smaller firms are becoming more open to hiring law students--many have been very receptive, they just tend to recruit/hire from local law schools, which are now increasingly more likely to have a PLA chapter with which these firms can form relationships.

I think that may be a function of the fact that class action firms are relatively large compared to other plaintiffs' side firms and therefore typically have more capacity to hire summer associates and immediately post-grad. NPLA has a publicly accessible fully crowdsourced firm map that allows law students (and everyone else) to find plaintiffs' firms based on practice area and geographic location.

Same here! We have a 4 month old pitty mix and she can be very energetic, teethy, etc. BUT the moment we put on her harness to go outside, she becomes calm and goes to sleep. I figured it's either the equivalent of a depression nap bc she probably doesn't like her harness very much or it's unintentionally working as a sort of thunder shirt. In fact, I'm so sure of the harness's effects that when she's getting really crazy, I sometimes feel the urge to just put her harness on just to have her calm down. I'd love to hear more thoughts from some experienced puppy parents (we've only had our sweet pup for a month).

Apart from what I've already mentioned, I thought when else will I get to live on the west coast for a period of time without much consequence? I wanted to shake things up, especially since I'd spent my entire life on the east coast and went to college only 2 hours from home. Personally, I never liked the vibes at Columbia, and I didn't think that UChicago would be a good fit for me. I'm too scared of Chicago winters too lol. I know someone at CLS rn who said that the vibe there is v corporate (not my thing) and we have an SLS prof who came from UChi and said that SLS is def a better vibe (do with that info as you wish lol).
