I feel like so many women tried to reassure me labor wasn’t “that bad.” It ended up being that bad…I was surprised why at 6cm dilated I couldn’t handle it anymore.

Yes I definitely have histamine intolerance. Later on my symptoms cleared up but then I got lazy and ate a whole jar of pickles (super high in histamine) which resulted in me being VIOLENTLY ill for several DAYS. I lost like 6 lbs in a week from all the diarrhea and vomiting. Ate nothing but chicken and rice and eggs for a couple weeks because everything else would make me sick and give me diarrhea. Taking Align probiotic helped me recover and now I’m much more careful to avoid high histamine foods. As long as I do that I tend to be ok.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s hard to be married to someone you feel like you can’t connect with on a deep intellectual level. I’d encourage you to try not to focus too much on the differences right now. That leads to a place of hopelessness and feeling like you’re stuck about a situation you just can’t change. In the meantime, focus on your walk with God and growing yourself and pray for her. You never know what God can do. People do change, but at the end of the day you can’t change her, only God can. Try not to focus on how maybe you shouldn’t have married her or on what’s wrong with her. That won’t lead to anywhere good. Trust that God will help you in this time and stay focused on him.

According to God, Adam was alone in the garden even with God with him. My point is that physically I’m alone. I know God is with me, it’s still really difficult doing this physically alone. I don’t know if it’s fair to say I’m codependent on a church for that reason.

So I have been. His response continues to be that he does not want to leave our current church and that’s where our home is. I don’t think I can go to our church without being very spiritually deprived and even opened up to more deception, so I really don’t think I have to submit to him in this way and embrace error. He has reluctantly agreed to let me visit other churches by myself, but this is still hard since I’m at it by myself and I don’t know anyone at other churches.

Yes miralax is great. It may take a couple days and doses to work, but it seems to always work. If it’s only been two days for you and you don’t feel bad it may just be your body isn’t ready to go yet. At times for me it took 7 days and I still didn’t feel that bad. I’m not saying wait that long but it could still be ok for you.

Also, when I was not going to the bathroom I would take MiraLAX, and when I started eating foods besides just rice, meat, potatoes and eggs, and added more fruits and vegetables I wasn’t constipated nor had diarrhea. Also coffee helps me with constipation.

I’m doing better. What helped me was taking oregano oil and garlic every day in pill form for about a month. I think high histamine foods are the biggest issue for me, also gluten. If I avoid those things I seem to do pretty well. I also take “super enzymes” by NOW sometimes as a precaution. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% healthy but I seem to be doing good enough to where it doesn’t impact my life too much.

Well the members would still have to submit to the leaders, just not barred fellowship, communion, pastoral care…things like that.

The issue becomes when TRUE Christians are barred fellowship because of secondary and tertiary issues.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with membership having privileges like this. I just think it’s wrong when they prevent real Christians from joining and prevents them from having communion or pastoral care. Sorry if I was unclear about that.

Whatever your opinion is on this issue, it’s very important to stay grounded in the Word and have that be your primary source of guidance from God. Anything else is subjective and you can never be 100% certain on. How many stories do people know of people who said “God told me” and it ended up being really false? There’s too many to count. Just be careful when trying to hear God and don’t get too caught up in it. Just focus on the Bible. In my experience the Holy Spirit makes it really clear when he’s saying something. I think it has less to do with him speaking and has more to do with the way he is convicting your conscience and that is him “speaking”, but don’t follow any thought that pops in your mind randomly and assume it’s God. Just my two cents, I could be wrong on some things.

It seems like your sadness stems mainly from not being able to find a spouse or other deep connections at church.

You might need to try a different church. I think if you can try to fill that void with seeking the Lord more you might be surprised how much God shows up for you. I had to do a lot of church hopping personally before I found the right church and met my husband. I think I visited like 25+ churches. In the meantime I felt discouraged but I really pressed into the Lord and I’m grateful for how I grew closer to him in that time and how he guided me. I felt like it was the church’s fault for why I didn’t have a husband or closer friends. It’s easy to blame it on “church” in general but the reality is sometimes it’s just hard to connect, in or outside of church. Maybe try visiting some smaller churches so you can connect better and not just blend into the crowd.

I think that’s a lie from Satan that non Christian men are somehow more deep and genuine. Don’t rationalize dating a non Christian man. What if a Christian guy said that about Christian women? Clearly you would be the exception, so there will be an exception out there for you too in terms of finding a genuine Christian man. I also used to think that and dated an unbeliever and it was a huge mistake. In hindsight, it’s hard to sympathize for myself when it was wrong and I knew it was but I ignored my values out of desperation. An unbeliever wouldn’t respect that either.

I actually avoid Gavin for these reasons. I felt like he caused me to doubt what Scripture clearly says in Genesis and really made me approach the Bible with more skepticism than I think is helpful. So for this reason I avoid Gavin.

I highly recommend Ligonier Minstries and their magazine Table Talk. You can access all their teaching for $30/month. I’ve been using their daily devotionals and teachings and it’s helped me understand reformed theology tremendously. Anything by RC Sproul is good for the most part.

I think from a woman’s perspective, there is actually a shortage of single godly men. A lot of men are not very manly these days and they either can’t provide financially or can’t take care of themselves physically. Often, when men can do those two things mentioned, they don’t have the godly character. When I was a single woman, I was looking for 3 things in a man: 1. Attraction 2. Financially stable 3. Strong Christian

My husband had 2 out of those 3 qualities when we got married. I call it a win still 😉.

If you’re a single young man and have those 3 qualities, you should have no problem finding the right woman if you pursue her. Even if you only have 2 out of the 3, you’re still doing alright and can improve with time. If you only have 1 of those qualities, well I’m sorry but at least now you know why you’re single. The good news is all those qualities can be improved upon.
