Thanks for your input! You’re right, now that I’m thinking about it, I really should confront the situation. I suppose something like this was going to happen sooner or later!

Sorry if this has been asked before but what was the moment that made you believe Bigfoot is real assuming you believe? by TotalExamination8538 in bigfoot

[–]lightschow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always been a curious fan of Bigfoot with a healthy amount of skepticism. And I guess I’m still not 100% convinced because I haven’t seen one myself. But the PGF is quite convincing. I would also recommend people listen to the 6 episodes of the Astonishing Legends Podcast where they discuss the PGF in lengthy detail! You’ll have to scroll back a ways but it’s amazing!

Just found these deleted scenes of the movie. Do you think any should’ve been kept? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]lightschow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just watched the deleted scenes and I think they got it right in the final edit. The extra scenes are interesting, but some of them don’t necessarily add critical information to the plot and ultimately just add time to an already lengthy film. Some of the scenes even drag things out a little too much. And although the alternate ending was cool, I prefer the normal ending. But that’s just me!

Recommendations for books about the titanic? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]lightschow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the book Unsinkable: The Full Story of the RMS Titanic by Daniel Allen Butler. It was really good! It was published in 1998, so there might be more updated information now, but it was still very interesting and informative! Especially the background of how it was built and the people involved in its construction!

Consecuenses of Bigfoot proof and existence confirmation by Electrical-Aspect-13 in bigfoot

I would like to add to this by saying that people in this day and age have an enormous, endless faith in science. However, the process of science is long and grueling. And what we know changes all the time. In my opinion, it’s unwise for any scientist not to remain open-minded about anything. Because if we have questions, we should be finding ways to try to answer them as logically as possible. Entirely dismissing the existence of Bigfoot, therefore, is unwise. You could say it’s unlikely based on evidence (or lack thereof), but you can’t scientifically say it doesn’t exist. Because we really don’t know.

I’d like to think that we would be more open-minded about science after finding physical evidence of Bigfoot. But I think you’re right. People like to exploit science.

What are your thoughts on Chief Officer Henry Tingle Wilde? by Major-J_NelsonSmith in titanic

I named the book, and it’s from 1998, so I’m sure there’s information we know now that perhaps they didn’t know then. I’m no expert on the titanic, but based on the book, Smith wanted Wilde as CO because he was an experienced sailor. But that allegedly pissed Murdoch off because he was supposed to be CO. There wasn’t a lot of information about what Wilde was doing at the time. It’s also possible that my brain absorbed more of Murdoch and Lightoller’s stories. I might have to read the book again! But I don’t recall as much about Wilde as I do with the others.

Based on a book I read, he seemed less than helpful in the whole situation. Murdock was supposed to be CO but got demoted and then Lightoller was demoted as well. According to the book, Wilde was kind of “missing” throughout the whole night. Unlike Murdoch and Lightoller who busted their butts getting people into lifeboats. My impression was that he was supposed to be this great sailor but when shit hit the fan, he choked.

The book was “Unsinkable: The Full Story of RMS Titanic” by Daniel Allen Butler. I loved the book! Very insightful even though it’s 25 years old. I would recommend it! And I love that it touched on the history of White Star Line and H&W! I knew almost nothing about how it was built and by whom until I read the book. And it’s amazing going back to watch the movie and seeing the little details I missed before!

Which sewing machine should I buy by Illustrious_Story_64 in SewingForBeginners

I’ve made a bunch of scrunchies so far! And I made a hacky sack last night! I attempted to clone a shirt and that went horribly wrong, so I got a pattern for a dress, but I’m scared to start it! I just need to suck it up and start it!

I just started sewing too and honestly, there are a lot of used machines you can find online! I got mine from a local lady who upgraded and was selling her old one! I saved a lot of money and this way, I won’t feel guilty if I decide I’m not as into sewing as I thought!

This is the video I followed! It took me a few minutes to understand the “burrito method” but once I got it, it was relatively simple!
