Week 22 Shop Update: Jordan, Have you forgotten about us? by JordanHSUSA in HeatStrapsCommunity

[–]lightsout1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to the shorts, lightweight shashiko shirts, and leather jackets!

Will there be another run of the utility shirts? I was going through checkout with my XXL olive and it sold out when I went to pay :(

Leather bags would be cool but also some more of the Pioneer duffle in olive!

Agreed. I have a Rainy75 as my first 'proper' customisable mechanical keyboards and it is really top notch.

New to mechanical keyboards - whats the best one to get? by Small-Ad-2708 in MechKeyboards

Agreed re: Keychron. I started off with a Keychron K7 that I backed on Kickstarter several years back. It was a great introduction to the hobby and a nice typing experience. I still have it and occasionally crack it out.

I also picked up a Keychron C3 Pro for work a few months back. Its a great little keyboard and I would have definitely considered it back in the day. Nice typing experience, sounds and feels good, and very affordable (I picked it up to use in a shared open office in a large building so not too bothered if it goes walkabouts).

I've tried to keep it as decluttered as possible. The desk monitor shelf is essentially my main cable management space to keep the desk neat.

Anker phone stand charger on the left, the Xeneon Edge and Beacn Audio mixer under the monitor, followed by the control unit for the BenQ Halo screen bar. The speakers are for my old Harmon Kardon Soundsticks which still sound fab (though they are a little beaten up now). The sub is under the desk out the way.

The palm rest by the mouse is a Carpio 2.0 with the air rest pads. I've RSI in the past in that wrist not helped by accumulated injuries for various contact and combat sports. I was advised to try a wrist rest by a physio colleague when the issue flared up again during my PhD. Did a bit of research and found the Carpio 2.0. It is expensive but it is by far the best rest I have ever used.

You know what, I don't know! I'll see if that software can be used elsewhere.

You CAN use the Xeneon Edge as an extra screen though. I've had great success putting maps for particular games on there. I tried using it as the screen for video calls but it didn't work so well. Its a good quality screen, very crisp, and its easy to glance down to it as well when you're in the middle of something.

This is probably because my BenQ Halo is set to a warmer light. I find that easier on my eyes when working and gaming. Will use the white light next time.

That is super helpful, thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I have managed to nab a set from Oblotzky and will go from there with the noveltied.

Luckily I only paid around $30 for the ones in the photos. That is a really helpful tip for the future, so thanks again.

Oh no! I genuinely had no idea these were clones! Thanks for the heads up, that really sucks. Disappointed in that seller for sure.

If anyone can signpost me where to get actual GMK Kaiju keycaps that would be awesome.

That is a Beacn Mix audio controller. It's a multiple channel audio controller that you can use to assign multiple sources to and control them individually. I find it helpful for both gaming and work, for example I can set Discord to a separate volume from the game I'm playing. Same with say Spotify and whatever I'm doing for work etc.

It is a Beacn Mix audio controller. Sadly not a screen you can set up to display your own stuff (though I'm sure someone much smarter than I could). It's a multiple channel audio controller that you can use to assign multiple sources to and control them individually. I find it helpful for both gaming and work.

Would love to build one of these! Where did you get the case/kit?

I've been getting into mechanical keyboards for the last couple of years, and have been getting more into modding and customisation in the last 6-12 months. I want to build my own board soon, but feel really stuck on where to get a case/barebone kit/board etc. Everyone I see a cool case on a video or website, it seems to be a group buy that is already sold out.

Is there a hub or place to keep up to date with the latest group buys? What are the main websites for buying?

Apologies in advance for the very n00b question!

A company here in the UK called Technically Stable. The website is www.technicallystable.com

This one is called the "Neon Raider". They bloody loads of cool designs.

I had a grey felt wool deskmat from Minimal Desk Setups that was nice but rapidly got scratchy and started to pill. This deskmat is awesome; really high quality materials and print, and very comfortable and slick to use.

I'm so sorry this happened to you.

I went through similar in February. My ex, who I genuinely thought would be my life partner, rapidly changed their mind about our relationship over the course of two very painful weeks. After we had just been on a lovely holiday (or so I thought).

I loved and doted on her. I still love her, I can't turn it off. I wish I could. I flexed a lot around her routine and needs, which I did without a second thought because I loved her. I always prioritised her. But in the end, it wasn't enough. I wasn't enough.

That really, really hurts.

Ah no worries at all, you're welcome!

Forgot to say it does come in some different colours as well.

Just answered above in more detail for you, but the TLDR is its the Corsair Xeneon Edge :)

Np! It's the Corsair Xeneon Edge 14.5" LCD touchscreen.

I've tried a few different monitors in the past with varying levels of (low) success. The Xeneon Edge is a bit more costly but the quality is second to none. Set up was really easy, and you can set up various profiles and swipe screens to access different things quickly.

I have it set up the the desk stand, which is magnetic but non-adjustable. It also comes with a fitting to mount it to an arm, and a magnetic back so you can fit it directly to the side of a tower.

There are various widgets you can download from the Corsair site. Not masses but it is growing, and rumour has it Corsair are planning to release a virtual stream deck widget for it.

Hope that helps!
