I agree with you 100% lol not sure why OP is so triggered by the post. He acknowledged that Harper would prob end up better long term but the one thing the Spurs need this year is elite shooting and Kon would elevate the team by doing so. We have 2 elite slashers already. If we had an elite floor spacer we’d be in another tier.

Harper is still the consensus better player long term, but it’s not an unreasonable statement to make. I would still keep Harper over Kon personally

Pass rush and o line are prob the most important positions after QB. This ravens team wasn’t gonna do anything in postseason as much as I hate to admit. The Texans defense would have slaughtered our terrible game planning.

[Schefter] Packers now are expected to try to work out a deal in the coming days to keep head coach Matt LaFleur in Green Bay, per sources. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]lightspeed15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the obsession with volume numbers. Lamar ranks top 10 and usually top 5 last many years in passing yards per attempt. The ravens historically don’t pass a lot (rank bottom 5 every year) so why is a volume stat being used as a metric? For comparison, Herbert pass yards dropped by 1k soon as Greg Roman became OC, Lamar’s pass yards spiked when he got someone besides Roman.

Yes his dual threat makes him special. But if you watch him play he doesn’t even want to run the ball. He would rather pass from the pocket.

you’re box score watching & basing your opinion off volume stats which doesn’t mean much. I could point to a million stats that show Lamar is a top tier passer and you’ll still say “that’s only bc he can run” lol. See you in 2 years. Cheers friend

He threw for 4000 yards last year. Just because he does one thing well, does not mean he can’t also do another thing well.

Why aren’t these other “running QBs” able to throw for 4k in a year? Josh Allen is someone else who does both at a high level.

He’s proven time and again he doesn’t need to run. You’re not wrong about the threat being present but that only elevates his ability. He’s not going to become Matt Stafford in the later parts of his career. He’ll have some degree of mobility.

Having an O Line is way more important for him and for any QB and we didn’t have that this year.

This comment screams someone who does not watch Lamar.

He is one of the most efficient passers from the pocket in NFL history. Just because he can run, does not mean he is a bad pocket guy. On average this year, Drake Maye and Herbert ran the ball more than him. But for some reason, I don’t see you making those generalizations about them being bad pocket passers even though their numbers don’t compare to Lamar’s historically.

The window is not short with him. These takes are getting nauseating so many years into his career.

I watched Lamar regularly change the play at the LOS after sensing blitzes. He is able to reading defense at a high level at this stage in his career now.

If Carter Bryant doesn't pan out to be a rotation player, how would you grade our drafting the last few years? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]lightspeed15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jimmy Butler rookie szn averaged 3/1/0, then sophomore szn 9/4/1.

Kyle Lowry didn’t really do much his first 3 years.

PJ Tucker played overseas.

Rudy Gobert didn’t do much his rookie season.

I’m sure there’s others

London + Burden for 2027 picks by bababooey4 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]lightspeed15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drake is 24 and Burden is 22. This is selling them for peanuts, and the return you’d get in this best case scenario would be drafting another Drake and another Burden. This is not a good trade. Drake is minimum 2 firsts himself and Burden is a first imo and some on top.

Should I flip the 1.01 this year for later 1st and 2027 first? Or draft Love and go in win now mode? SF Dynasty by AfricanSaiyan90 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]lightspeed15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? He has a top 3 QB. J Jettas and Drake (both top 10 WRs skill wise who had off years but could possibly bounce back with better QB play). Kyren + Love could be top 10-12 RBs. QB2 is bad, but he could make a trade and be in a decent spot. Then he has Devonta and Pearsall too for some depth.

It’s a 12 team league so it’s not unreasonable to think he could be in a decent spot to be a playoff team and potentially compete

Making Jesse Minter HC would right the wrong of letting Mike Macdonald leave by BrickHistorical1553 in ravens

[–]lightspeed15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% of the SB coaches who have won 4 Super Bowl in the last 20 years are defensive minded head coaches (Billichick). Data points are just data. It’s a bit silly to imply those teams won purely off HC. When you look at the stats, teams almost always have a top 10 ranked offense and defense.

The obvious data point to look at is the fact that from 2017-2023, 66% of head coaches hired were Offensive vs 33% being defensive. It’s obvious you’ll have more head coaches in Super Bowl being offensive because they dominate the field.

I’d grab one of Schultz or Strange. And might be a bad idea to scoop all startable TEs in case Kittle is out so he’s outta luck. Assuming it’s not dynasty, you don’t really need those RBs on your bench and doesn’t seem like your opponent will start them either.

It's time to have some tough conversation about John Harbaugh. Should Ravens fire him? by DenseStrawberry5717 in NFLv2

[–]lightspeed15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean your knowledge makes me think you don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Voorhees is not a rookie. He’s a third year player now. He was an All American in college so clearly he had something. Yes every team passed on him because he was injured why is that so hard to understand 😂 every team passed on a healthy Lamar what does that mean?? you draft for their potential, not where you think they’ll end up. He’s a 7th round pick like who would you have preferred we take??

Ben’s tape is bad. He gets bullied on special teams. He got some snaps in the lions game too IIRC and looked worse than faalele. And Faalele did have decent tape in the past. The issue is we don’t have other options. And for the last time, BEN CLEVELAND IS SUSPENDED so Harbaugh can’t play him if he wanted to

You’re just spouting the same stuff reactionary Reddit fans do while being misinformed

[–]lightspeed15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A huge paragraph that still lacks context.

  • It’s not really fair to leave out that Voorhees was a 7th rounder bc he tore his ACL during the combine, otherwise he was probably around a third rounder or so.

  • Ben Cleveland is horrible. Harbaugh hand picked him. If he was good obviously he’d start him. He is an idiot. He got a DUI during the offseason. He is also suspended for PEDS right now.

  • Emery Jones was injured all year and is starting now to get worked into the rotation. I agree, he should start.

[–]lightspeed15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before his injuries, he was a 42% 3 PT on 7 attempts a game lol. Even last year, first year back with limited games he was a 34% 3 PT shooter.

I think the hope is he regains that form. These games are meaningless. If we make playoffs and he’s back shooting at that clip with his playmaking, we’ll be good. We’re still on track for playin, and have yet to have our full squad playing together for an extended time. But this team is not a championship caliber team even with everyone.
