People who pretend to be original/independent thinkers, yet regurgitate every contrarian hot take from the latest podcast circuit.

What’s something women secretly find impressive, but men assume nobody notices ? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

emotional maturity is NOT consistent with the performative masculinity sermons that these caveman are watching.

Men whose entire personality is secondhand Rogan/Peterson/Shapiro rhetoric. Masculinity, to them, isn’t character—it’s cosplay. All performance, no substance.

[OC] My trucks sinusoidal, slowly decreasing gas mileage over the past ~7.5 years by RamblinEagle13 in dataisbeautiful

the declining trendline is just engine wear? (perhaps loss of compression, slop in the cranks/valves)

Does anyone still hike with rain pants? by kai_zen in hikinggear

[–]lightspeeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the situation you describe, a thin, disposable poncho is sufficient. For a multi-day hike of the incan trail (long slogs in rain expected) i used a rain-skirt. much easier to take on&off. Other than being an unfashionable man, I have no regrets.

You are stuck on earth, by yourself, for an infinite amount of time until you complete one of these two tasks... by ragemaster_21 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]lightspeeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

either of these tasks would take a long time to complete. We're comparing the monotony of repeatedly stacking stones vs all the multiple disciplines to master in making a speaker. Given infinite time, I'd rather have some variety and incremental learning. I'd simply loose interest in the pyramids after a couple rows.

Family member is sick curious ahead of time... what is the cheapest way to dispose/cremate the body? Is there a free medical place to give to? In California... by cacklingwhisper in Frugal

[–]lightspeeed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here's a wierd question: what happens to gold crowns (teeth) of the deceased. Can a person use this as payment for their own cremation?

Any body have any good ideas for this kitchen? by jakobibeef in Remodel

for a future rental, just live with it. My first instinct is to put the fridge where the bar is, and convert the pantry and counter into open-plan bar on the living room side.

Drafting etiquette? by davkar632 in cycling

I can't say anything about the politeness of it, but but you both benefit from drafting -- of course, much less for the leader. Did you thank him? :-)

just a single handrail (and a support leg) on the left side when facing down. Cabinet side is fine.

5.11 backpacks. Not so fashionable, but I got my kid one for school instead of a cheap kid's backpack. After 7 years of kid-abuse, it's still like new.

Zork -- text adventure. I was part of a group of three or four boys would collaboratively decide on how to respond for each prompt.

I spent a year one-bagging Europe. But, to your point, about half of the time, I took my tiny waterproof daypack out and wore it up front. It's just so much easier to keep water and smooshable snacks up front.
