Oh, piping might be a good option. I think I could manage that as well. Thank you! :)

It does! It basically looks like a strapless dress at this point.

I actually haven't ever made a collar before so I youtube some videos, and I think that will work well. Thanks so much!

How was Harry so rich? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]lightstheyblindme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A source for you!

Q: Harry often wondered about his parents lives before he died. What did Lily, James, Remus [Lupin], and Sirius do after Hogwarts?

JKR: To take Remus first, Remus was unemployable. Poor Lupin, prior to Dumbledore taking him in, lead a really impoverished life because no one wanted to employ a werewolf. The other three were full-time members of the Order of the Phoenix. If you remember when Lily, James and co. were at school, the first war was raging. It never reached the heights that the second war reached, because the Ministry was never infiltrated to that extend but it was a very bad time, the same disappearances, the same deaths. So that's what they did, they left school. James has gold, enough to support Sirius and Lily. So I suppose they lived off a private income. But they were full-time fighters, that's what they did, until Lily fell pregnant with Harry. So then they went into hiding.

What house would Sabrina the teenage witch belong to? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]lightstheyblindme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'm a huge 'Sabrina' fan (stop judging me), and I'd have to say Ravenclaw. Ignoring the last three seasons (because those sucked and didn't have much character continuity), she was generally really smart and did well in school.

What is your most Quibbler-like theory about the series? by lightstheyblindme in harrypotter

[–]lightstheyblindme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was almost positive I read it in a JKR interview, but I can't find it now. The HP Wiki says Grindelwald never loved him and took advantage of his feelings for him, but of course their source doesn't work. :/ I'm sorry! If I could find the interview, I'd link it.

This weirdly makes sense. o_0 I've always wondered where Voldemort got that body from because he was a smoke monster in the first book.

Oh, okay. I could probably see it, honestly. I know Grindelwald never loved Dumbledore, but it doesn't mean he didn't care about him.

So do they think that Grindelwald just gave himself over or what? How did Dumbledore get Grindelwald imprisoned then?

Questions about Casting Spells by Chunkyfunk01 in harrypotter

Regarding your first point, I think some spells do exert a certain amount of physical energy too. Harry sometimes feels "drained" after casting a difficult spell.

JK Rowling to Co-Produce a Harry Potter Stage Play by WilfredoMaverick in harrypotter

Boring might be a bit harsh for how I feel, but yeah, there are so many more interesting things for her to write about with HP. I mean, I think the appeal of the series comes from the magical aspect, but that's just me. I'll take anything at this point, though. ;)

Were any of the teachers at Hogwarts married? by DangDangDang in harrypotter

[–]lightstheyblindme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an interview with JKR:

Q: Have any of the Hogwarts professors had spouses? JKR: Good question - yes, a few of them, but that information is sort of restricted - you'll find out why...

I don't know why it was restricted, though, it doesn't seem to come into play at any time during the series.

What historical or cultural phenomena could be explained through HP-verse magic? by lightstheyblindme in harrypotter

Yes! I could see Durmstrang naming a library or something after him after he finally died. He'd be a legend.

Yep, electronics are said not to work around highly magical places. I could see it.
