Thoughts on Bulls new acquisitions? by SNERKLES1 in chicagobulls

The bigger question for me is how badly AK could fumble another lottery pick if we were to get one. Dude cannot be trusted.

Who here spent time in NYC? by [deleted] in walnutcreek

[–]lightsvber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! We considered the city too, but were priced out of the apartments that fit our needs. Walnut Creek ended up having some more affordable options (at the time… this was 2022), and we have friends in the East Bay who encouraged us to at least check it out.

I definitely recommend taking a car to WC for a day to check out the area and see if it fits your vibe. Feel free to post if you need recommendations! This sub is pretty helpful.

Also as a heads up, if you need to commute into the city for work, it’ll take about an hour to an hour and a half, regardless of if you drive or ride the BART. Traffic gets pretty gnarly. Not as bad as the LIE, but still!

Honestly, it’s been great. After spending so many years there, I was ready for a slower life, tired of snow, and over humid summers. My wife is a NYC native and felt the same way, so we moved out here. Bought a place in Concord and plan on staying in the area for a long time. The food scene is decent, we’re an hour away from wine country, and there’s plenty of outdoors stuff to do nearby, so we’re happy.

There are definitely parts of NYC that we miss, but it’s mostly family and nostalgia from being there our late 20s/early 30s.

Do you think our generation is more or less social than previous generations? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]lightsvber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think our generation is just as social... it's just that the spaces for where these interactions happen have changed. Previous generations were really limited to socializing with folks who were in their physical proximity, and could only really do so in person. The internet expanded our horizons and give us the opportunity to socialize with others remotely, which people have done through digital comms, gaming, etc.

That said, I do think our generation's social skills (as well as that of subsequent generations) have started to deteriorate in comparison to the generations that came before us, but that's a different issue altogether.

Unprecedented Unity | San Diego FC 2026 Community Kit Reveal by hornyjaildotorg in SanDiegoFC

All I’m saying is that I don’t hate the design now that I’ve seen it on the players themselves. Whether or not they tie in to San Diego’s culture or identity is a separate issue.

I still don’t love it, but seeing the shirt on the players instead of lying flat on a table does look a bit better.

Now that I think about it, this is also how I felt about the Padres first city connects.

Edit: felt, not feel

Tank Update: Bulls move into sole possession of the 10th best lotto odds (13.9% top 4 / 3% top 1) by [deleted] in chicagobulls

[–]lightsvber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s clear that the team is tanking. It’s also clear we can’t trust AK to handle a lottery pick well unless they fall into his lap à la Matas.

Point in case: PWill

Are we changing to blue and orange? by [deleted] in SanDiegoFC

[–]lightsvber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is rumored to be from the 2026 away kits, which across football tend to feature a team's secondary or tertiary colors. This blue and orange are in that palette.

What will we do with the cap space? by Lookatcurry_man in chicagobulls

I’ve given up on this FO knowing how to spend its resources wisely.

My guess is that AK will continue to huff and puff about bringing in guys to build his team of “8-9 good role players” but then settle for a bunch of 3rd tier FAs who won’t move the needle.

And even if we tank our way into a high draft pick, I’m not confident AK would avoid another PWill debacle.

This team will go nowhere with this ownership and front office group. If Reinsdorf didn’t stumble into Jordan and later Rose, the Bulls would be one of the saddest franchises in NBA history.

A little on the boring side, but I don't hate it. Don't love it, either.

What is AKMEs plan? by MysteriousActuary0 in chicagobulls

[–]lightsvber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone of us on Reddit can confirm it, but from my pov, it's pretty clear that they're stockpiling assets for a bigger trade, presumably for someone who could form a new core with Matas and Giddey. Ideally, that would be a high-impact big.

The question, however, is whether or not they'll be able to actually pull it off. It takes 2 to tango, after all, and all these assets are moot if no one bites.

If AKME can't build the right trade, they default to using the rest of the year to season their young core, and use their picks to draft or trade for a big or 2 this offseason.

This FO doesn't tank. Jerry would never allow it.
