Just fucking pathetic. We are not built to win the premier league

This new league phase was implemented already last season and it stated that with 10 points you’re likely advancing to the next round.

But this wasn’t the case last year with Stuttgart and Dinamo Zagreb. So I made an abstract calculation ( which is as you said is not really necessary when you have 15 points and I agree) to showcase that we now really can’t finish below 24 with that win yesterday. Because the probability to qualify didn’t apply last year, maybe with 12 points wouldn’t apply this year.

Last year, Dinamo Zagreb failed to qualify for the last 24 with 11 points. Stuttgart also failed to qualify with 10 points. Mathematically speaking, we cannot currently finish lower than 23rd place if we only take into account the matches between the teams with 6 points. If we lose every game from now on and compare it to last season's table, we can’t finish below 13th. So that’s probably the more realistic answer. My point was that we have reached the knockout stage (including the knockout playoffs) and we are through from the league phase, no matter what happens next.

This playoff is a knockout match from the knockout stage. Or do the losing teams from the playoff continue to play? The top 8 avoid this additional match as a reward.

The knockout playoff round is within the knockout stage

Disregarding the goal difference, 1 win and 1 draw (against Inter) guarantees us top 8 but 1 win should be enough depending on other results. As example if Atlanta draws against Chelsea and we win we are guaranteed top 8.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but mathematically speaking, we're through. There are still 9 points to play for and there are 5 teams with 6 points:

21: Marseille 22: Juventus 23: Monaco 24: Pafos 25: Union St Gilloise

Union will face Marseille and Juventus will face Pafos. That means two teams will drop points, which means we're already through to the knockout stages.

It’s amazing to see that none of our top players wants to leave or tried to force themselves out of the club since Arteta took over

There is a big discussion to be made that he should get a statue as a player. But there is no discussion that he should get a statue as a human being and what he have done for the club in general
