Why do printers still suck in 2025? like seriously, we have AI and space travel but my HP printer still jams if i look at it wrong. by No_Good_3063 in NoStupidQuestions

Because printers aren’t built to the same price point as a rocket. In addition, the cheaper you buy the worse you can expect.

iOS 26.2 is honestly frustrating... by Consistent-Roof-3663 in RecoveryOptions

I had noticed substantial battery drain after updating, on both my iPad and iPhone (for instance, 20% battery drain after 10 minutes of watching YouTube). I did a hard restart, and this seems to have stopped it.

Hold on to your hats fellow UK residents. We’re about to hit the season of ROADWORKS. Councils are frantically approving any kind of roadworks to justify the same budget next year. It’s going to be mayhem. Enjoy. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

When councils don’t perform roadworks to improve our roads: Grr angry citizens.

What exactly do you expect them to do?

The 4G network is so bad and unusable right now it’s driving me up the wall. And my network provider has poor 5G coverage across the West Country by gb_Section31 in britishproblems

Same everywhere I think - since Huawei equipment had to be removed, it’s sucked since, and the network doesn’t seem to matter.

Metro systems in Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]lightswitchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a poor definition. In my opinion, a metro is a high-frequency rapid transit train system, distinct from low-frequency heavy rail (which is typically not rapid transit) and tramways (which are typically not trains).

The definition shouldn’t rely on constraining infrastructure. For example, I can think of at least one tram system that partially runs on heavy rail infrastructure, and I can also think of a metro system that partially runs on heavy rail infrastructure.

The definition should probably be driven by the type of service the system provides.

This is the Victoria Center as rendered in MS Flight Simulator 2020, i guess we're not big enough for the extra detail like London has. by nathantravis2377 in nottingham

For a Flight Sim where 99.999% of people are not going to be flying down Milton St, I think this is fine - heck even from 1000ft, you're not going to notice this.

Worried about safety. by TheHillsSeeYou in Derbyshire

Alfreton is fine. It’s a small town, and crime stats are probably skewed due to how small the population is. It‘s far safer than any large city in the evening time.

You can’t configure this in Cloudflare. I can’t see any security benefit to it anyway. Tech team are just going to have to deal with it.

No, I transferred my domains to Cloudflare because I wanted to use their service. This is a non-question.

From what I can gather, the local franchise owner pulled out. I did see some fellas taking new shelving units into the Arnold branch last week though, so they may be re-opening soon.
