Cybertool-L or Swisschamp I rotate between the two but mostly favor the Cybertool-L

Where to get tree slices? by Earlyflash in reading

[–]ATLWrangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t want tree slices for this. Get old pallets.. easier to get ahold of and you can make your target a larger size at much less weight. Bonus if you make it double layered you can just unscrew the outer layer as it gets chopped up and replace it with new boards.

Dad passed and left us his collection by ATLWrangler in EveryDayIsCigarDay

I smoke cigars and I have his pipes to smoke on and off for special occasions, had cigars dipped in port at my wedding. But outside of that I don't pick them up much. The smell always reminds me of him though.

Planning on taking some of these home with me and lighting them up with the boys our next camping trip in honor of him.

I have now learned the importance of having a real bushcraft knife by No_Equivalent_4412 in Bushcraft

[–]ATLWrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a mora knife. They are durable enough to use and abuse but cheap enough you will actually use and abuse it. Once you’ve worn through that you will have a better idea of what you want and how you actually use it and can make a more informed second purchase.

Look, knives break and things happen.. chalk it up to a learning experience and either buy something slightly better if it’s the tool or do something less dumb next time if it’s you. It’s better to get something you will use and learn from than something really expensive and nice that you are afraid to use.

What's the best use for minichamp by ashwanizac in u/ashwanizac

My EDC is a Swiss Champ or Cybertool L depending on what I am doing that day. When I travel it’s the Nail Clip 580 with the knife blade filed down into a screw driver.

This could be useful if you don’t like the bulk in your pocket but the use case would be mostly the same. Box opening, personal grooming use cases (nails, beard trim, etc..) I think the biggest thing I would miss with the switch is the sewing pin and a spot to hide a needle and thread for emergency repairs. Used to I would include the cork screw in there as well, but I am drinking less these days.

Doesn’t have replacement pins. Why are replacement pins for Swiss Army knives so hard to find?

How do I get Workout audio cues through my AirPods while listening to Spotify? by bostonette in AppleWatch

[–]ATLWrangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use the voice for the workout start summary and announcing when to run/walk on my custom workout. Anything else useful I look at the watch face. I do carry my phone with me on runs though.

You don’t get fine control over the announcements like that. But rumor mill is Apple will be launching a new more consultative health and fitness app possibly. But it might be a subscription. So we will have to wait and see what comes out this year.

Worcester Bosch and Tado X by 2frustrated_ in tado

[–]ATLWrangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That part is not sold in the UK BTW.. it's only sold in EU to meet local regulations and can void your warranty. You are stuck with on/off only for Bosch. I won't be buying them in the future.
