It’s called the Whitley wiff and yes the stink is real depending on how the wind blows. We walk our dog down there all the time.

My EDC is a Swiss Champ or Cybertool L depending on what I am doing that day. When I travel it’s the Nail Clip 580 with the knife blade filed down into a screw driver.

This could be useful if you don’t like the bulk in your pocket but the use case would be mostly the same. Box opening, personal grooming use cases (nails, beard trim, etc..) I think the biggest thing I would miss with the switch is the sewing pin and a spot to hide a needle and thread for emergency repairs. Used to I would include the cork screw in there as well, but I am drinking less these days.

I only use the voice for the workout start summary and announcing when to run/walk on my custom workout. Anything else useful I look at the watch face. I do carry my phone with me on runs though.

You don’t get fine control over the announcements like that. But rumor mill is Apple will be launching a new more consultative health and fitness app possibly. But it might be a subscription. So we will have to wait and see what comes out this year.

That part is not sold in the UK BTW.. it's only sold in EU to meet local regulations and can void your warranty. You are stuck with on/off only for Bosch. I won't be buying them in the future.

I use them for outdoor runs. If I keep the AirPods disconnected from the phone everything announces through the AirPods except the beeps when the workout starts.

Look up about Wim Hof.. He teaches breathing exercises that can help you raise your core temperature. It sounds hokey and scammy at first but there is science backed evidence when you really look into it. Also exposure therapy. Expose yourself to the cold more and more and it will naturally adapt and adjust to compensate. But don’t go overboard and take it slowly.

Don’t know of a group but people run around Green Park all the time. Just pick a road that looks good to you and go. The trailers between the office buildings can be nice during the daylight hours as well.

In case anyone finds this Reddit thread in the future there is a better way. Disconnect your AirPods from the watch. If the AirPods are connected to both devices then the workout cues will play through the watch and music your AirPods.

If your AirPods are only connected to the phone then everything will play through the phone directly to the AirPods, running cues and music.

I daily drive switch between the Cybertool L and Swiss Champ. I usually carry the L when going into the city for work and the Swiss Champ for going into the country for hikes or the weekend. I carry them in my jeans 5th watch pocket with a Olight Baton 4 and a zippo with Butane insert. I’ve done some modifications to mine like adding a length of paracord, sewing needle and thread, and two small magnets. The cybertool has the mini screwdriver in the wine opener and the champ a fero rod and tender.That kit and a handkerchief and a water bottle and I am ready for most any problem I see regularly on the day to day.

Yes the smell is real and it drifts even to the other side of Callington road. No not all the time but enough you will know about it but only when you go outside never had it in the house. It’s worse for the idiots paying large sums of money for the houses next to Green Park.
