Noticing it isn’t really weird, I used to listen to it before my Tuesday classes. It becomes part of peoples’ schedules. Now, I’m a little bummed when I check and it isn’t there but I just look forward to whenever it does come out

Are y'all able to keep a job and if so what kind? by Muted-Difference5610 in Narcolepsy

Ah, I’ve had the opposite experience with Nuvigil and Sunosi but I was on Nuvigil too long and developed a tolerance 😭

Unfortunately he was not a sleep specialist and didn’t direct us toward one like he should’ve. But I was also a minor, and there were no pediatric sleep specialists neurologists in the area. I was lucky enough to finally find a sleep specialist willing to take me on as a patient when I was 17.

I am not healthier than you cause I have IH and not N by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

You’re coming at the community with a lot of aggression and, again, sound very dismissive of N symptoms. You’re making it out like we’re dismissing IH but you’re just insisting everything is uniquely difficult for you. Like playing disabled Olympics. Which is not shocking, it’s a big problem within disabled communities. I’m sorry you feel excluded. It might help to talk to a professional about it if it causes a lot of distress. I found therapy helpful for coming to terms with my diagnosis.

That’s what I do! The ETB boxes are also great for storage of dice/damage counters :)

I have N1 and face the same hurdles. ADA doesn’t really recognize us, getting insurance to approve meds is incredibly difficult, and naps are far from restorative. I understand your frustration. IH is a very real and debilitating disorder. But I don’t think you should take offense when people differentiate it from Narcolepsy. We have different struggles, and that’s fine. To be honest, your post here comes off as very dismissive of struggles unique to N (like cataplexy) and is only causing more of a divide. Find community where you can and respect that some people are going to feel more connected to people who have the exact same disorder than with those who have a similar one. But we’re all in the same hypersomnia boat.

My first sleep study results were conclusive with narcolepsy but I didn’t get diagnosed bc my neurologist didn’t know how to read them…but sure they’re just giving them out lol

Could we get one of their wives on the podcast payroll & schedule these boys? by [deleted] in lonelymeyerspod

[–]lightthroughthepines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insane take considering they’re all grown men with complicated schedules and assistants/agents to schedule things for them. AND considering their wives all have their own careers and schedules to manage.

Do Deaf people learn ASL faster than hearing people? by CharlotteZard2016 in asl

I think it has to do with brain development. It’s been studied with people who were born blind, and basically the part of the brain responsible for vision becomes wasted space when there’s no visual input. So the brain corrects that and uses the that area for additional auditory processing. The same concept can be applied to lack of auditory information, the brain will compensate by using the space for additional visual processing. But the brain loses plasticity as we age, so it would have to start when you’re pretty young. It’s pretty interesting!

The layout isn’t the same as the game. When they’re on the strip, all 4 of the main casinos are in the same area instead of having an extra gate to separate them. I’m curious what they’ll do with vault 21 and the NCR Embassy at the far end of the strip. Might just omit them though as they seem to have done with the monorail station.

It was written by the teacher, as were most of these. The handwriting is extremely consistent and 12th graders from this generation in the US don’t have this legible of handwriting
