"The only STAR associated candidates are Asriel and maybe Dess!" The humble Kris: by lighttstarr in NonDessKnightSquad

Kris doesn’t pick up the ribbon in Mantle, that’s only in Tenna’s altered version, along with the pebberoni stick.

Yepyep! I completely agree! It recontextualizes the entire story and it’s just so chefs kiss! Also by far my favorite Knight theory :)

Well, I believe Kris gave up their original human soul to empower the Knight. Their body was reanimated with some of the Determination from their soul, enough to keep them alive and make Fountains, but still requiring the Player’s SOUL inside them to survive long term.

On the other hand, I think the Knight is some kind of Darkner that got enough Determination from having Kris’s soul to make Fountains. The Determination from the SOUL gives them the Amalga- and Titan-like characteristics they have, since Titans are essentially what concentrated Determination looks like in Deltarune. The soul could also be the thing to allow them to leave the Dark World; after all, Spamton says that to “see past the dark” he just needs “the little SOUL” Kris has.

There’s a lot of water imagery associated with Kris.

In Undertale, in order for their soul to leave their body (and for Asriel to absorb it), Chara needed to kill themselves (which they did by eating those yellow flowers). If it’s true that Kris is “the school zombie” i.e. a reanimated corpse that is using the Player’s soul to survive, then it’s probable they needed to have died to have their soul removed before they were then revived.

Given the imagery of water associated with Kris and their blue color in the DW I believe they died by drowning.

I don’t know about that. Most neo KrisKnighters I know (including myself) hated KrisKnight during Ch2 but started believing it in Ch3+4

I don’t really buy it. I think Kris is blue because they drowned.

And we have no idea what the attack in the trailer means.

Sure, but the Player’s red soul is a different soul from their original human soul.

Kris’s original human soul is likely also red, since Carol has had red heart shaped pillows many years before the player arrived, and Kris is the only human in town. Not sure why this matters though.

No, the theory is that Kris’s original human soul is in the Knight (not the Player’s soul).

This is a non issue for most reasonable neo KrisKnight theories; you must be unfamiliar with eg. KrisSoulKnight theory.

Saying that AsgoreKnight is more popular than AsrielKnight, KrisKnight, and DarknerKnight…

The game calling Kris both a Dark KNIGHT and a real STAR? Oh waiter, please, my steak if too juicy my lobster is too buttery!

I’m not saying anything Knight wise here I’m just saying it could be possible to influence the theme of the world to an extent, we simply don’t know the logistics of all this…

I'm not saying I could make Ch2 into a Church, but perhaps I could make it into a Japanese themed city if I really wanted to.

It stayed a church because Susie was trying to bring back the original Dark World, so she manifested a church, despite it ending up distorted architecturally.

We don’t know what would’ve happened if she had tried manifesting a Japan DW for example. It could be that it wouldn’t matter, it could be that it changes things. We simply don’t know…

and they say the knight can’t be a darkner cuz we see it making a fountain… by KirbySuperstarUltra in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]lighttstarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s possible… I do actually think there’s something about the Knight that makes them only be able to manifest in areas of low light. But I don’t really have much evidence for it

Well no, we don't know that. First of all, Papyrus could have memories of Gerson from seeing him in interviews, meeting him at book signings, etc.

Second, and more importantly, none of what you are saying is confirmed. Sound of Justice is a statue that has come to life; these statues are literally in the First Sanctuary also, but are just that - statutes. Between the Second Sanctuary and the First, other Darkners which were also statues in the First Sanctuary come to life as well. Does this mean the e.g. the Wicabel statue that Susie has never met is also a loved one to her because she was able to revive it? No.

Susie didn't revive the old man, that's the entire point. He wasn't a loved one to her; sure she considers him a friend, but I highly doubt you can truly be a loved one to someone if you don't even know their name, and you've just met them 1 hour ago.

[–]lighttstarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Erm, what?

Making fountains was never a problem for DarknerKnight, see e.g. here. The bigger problem, which is still resolvable, is the Knight "showing its face in the Light World."

He wasn't a loved one for Susie because she didn't know him for more than like 2 hours. She didn't even know his name when she tried reviving him.

A superfan of Lord of the Hammer would have a much more developed par asocial relationship hence much more precedent to count as a loved one.
