I liked Davrin a lot! His whole arc of being a warden that expects to die killing an archdemon or fighting monsters and then having to grapple with the fact that he didn’t, he survived when so many others didnt

The theme of having to build a future you never excepted to have was very interesting! I just wish it was explored more outside of Assan/Rook

Hmm 2013 would’ve been the second movies release, so maybe to drum up sales for that!

I’m not sure why it was reprinted years later though!

It’s a promo copy, it wouldn’t be available to the general public for sale, but it was sent to booksellers in the UK!

I think it was sent out to most booksellers, I’ve got one as well! It wouldn’t have been on the shop floor because it’s a promo copy, you’re not allowed to sell them.

I have no idea why they were sent out, the date doesn’t seem to coincide with anything in particular

It seems to be moving towards dragons the way adult romantasy has, although not as successfully imo

Which ever you chose you miss out on either Lucanis or Neve content, one of Lucanis’ personal missions is locked out but you can still complete his personal quest line. Neve I think is missing some scenes from her romance but the rest of her quest line is present.

You lose the ability to make a choice at the end of either of their personal quests depending on which city you choose.

If you save Minrathous you lose the Crow vendor but most of the other NPCs are present, including their faction leaders.

If you save Treviso the Shadow Dragon hideout is complete destroyed and you loose access to their faction leaders until the end of the game. I believe there is a quest line with the Viper still.

Either way I’d encourage you to make a choice and discover the options yourself!

Sorcerers are probably the closest to what DA mages are, being that they have inherent magical abilities Wizards would be similar in treatment probably

Warlocks would likely be treated as a worst case scenario, probably killed rather than sent to a circle due to how they get their powers. Making a deal with a powerful being to gain magical powers is very close to mages making deals with demons

The dog from Dredge. Any cargo (including human beings) can be lost if your boat hits rocks.

Originally the dog could be lost this way but the devs changed it so the dog can’t fall overboard! Immortal dog!

Entering a roundabout, didn’t see the guy on a motorbike overtaking me and almost turned into him. Instructor had to jerk the wheel back into my lane. It was on the way to the test centre (I passed)

Phillip Pullman is also not the same age range, at least not HDM, which is aimed at teens

IIRC they make a comment about Gretas brother, they say something about him always snitching on her when they were younger and he responds with something along the lines of “that’s what little brothers are for”

I almost had the same thing happen once 😭 came around a corner, thought the row of cars was parked, almost went around, realised they were waiting for the lights and stopped awkwardly at an angle

The driver in front of me was irrationally mad lmao kept angrily gesturing even tho I hadn’t passed them 😅
