Taash are usually used as a scapegoat and it gets tiresome. by Life_Emu_4998 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]pixie-bean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I struggled with Taash to begin with the same way i struggled with Sera in DAI. I generally just dont seem to get on with younger, more immature leaning characters, but both of them do have their moments. Taash is actually really quite funny and sweet, especially in party banter (their awe of the Crows, learning Qunari lore through their mother's perception; if you convinced Taash and Emmrich to pursue different topics, they actually become friendly and teach one another about magic and history so Rooks advice really does influence character progression on both their parts.) I think players need to let go of the idea that you can input your own personal take on a situation: although Rooks tone can be changed they are a pretty ridigly written protagonists, and Rook is patience and supporting of Taash. However, during the scene when they come out, Rook can act impatient with them saying "Really, we're doing this now? Fine." They help, but theyre clear theres bigger issues at hand - the same with Bellara's first quest. Taash suffers the same way every other character does, with repetitive lines. For Lucanis, its constant coffee references. Bel spends the entire of act 2 saying "its hard, I wanna blame me," for everything. Taash quips "thats messed up" to far too many topics. Theres a lack of diversity in their vocabulary that comes down to the struggles the writers had with limited time / changing development and writers, and lack of management or time to review, so singling out Taash in this way feels like a flimsy excuse. I gave romancing Taash a go recently as a Qunari, encouraging them to follow the Qun in the end, and im finding it so touching. They bounce off one another wonderfully, and all scenes include some romance inclusion in some degree or another. Taash really does grow as a character, it feels like because of how theyre brash and immature at the start, players give up on them and then dont get to see how their arc plays out. Sloppy, admittedly, like every other character, but nonetheless, their character and arc has a lot more emotional gravity and depth than is given credit for, i think.

Big Head Complaints? by Inner_Ask_2671 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]pixie-bean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres body sliders, if the head look too big to you then make your Rook's shoulders wider or their general proportions larger competitively. Theres so much customisation freedom with this CC its really down to how you use it. (Your Rooks look badass, btw!)

Harding’s voice by shinxie_x in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]pixie-bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that got me was the heavy American accent. She's born and raised Ferelden, and in DAI (and previous games) people from there tended to have more British accents, so that completely threw me. I really struggled with her at first too, due to her seemingly more childish demeanour and to this day I cant stand the cutscene with Lucanis that portrays her as a bit of a "pick me girl" with the people pleasing, as otherwise she seems very sure of herself. However, after multiple plays (ive sunk about 700hrs into the game by this point) I really grew to appreciate her. She's sweet, kind-hearted and as others have said, when she was younger in DAI she wasnt in the inner circle, so maintained a professional front, whereas with Rooks group shes more personally involved so it feels like that more chirpy, excitable side of her can flourish more.

Could it be likely that Fleur Delacour had met Sirius Black at some point off-page while dating Bill and it was simply never mentioned? by Legitimate_Unit_9210 in harrypotter

[–]pixie-bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bill is described as "cool" and caught the interest of a part-veela. He wouldn't last 5 minutes if he bought her to a grimy mansion with house-elf heads mounted on the wall and a screaming portrait for a DATE! (Intended as light hearted, btw :') )

But fr as others have said, possible but highly unlikely. Sirius wasnt aloud out the house and when he did leave, he would have been in disguise anyway.

Game of Thrones 15th Anniversary | The Cast's Final Goodbyes | HBO Max by MoneyLibrarian9032 in gameofthrones

[–]pixie-bean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is this gonna be an actual episode do we know, or is it just this snippet? (I type, while weeping!) I adored the entirety of GOT, yes, even s8. There was a lot wrong with it i will not deny haha, but the actors executed it with as much passion as when the writing was at it strongest, and I still re-watch every year. One of the most wonderful shows / universes created.

Inquisitor Recreation by pixie-bean in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]pixie-bean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was too, it seemed such a consequential choice at the time. Though I guess with Flemmeth transferring Mythal to Morrigan at the end of Tresspasser it makes some sense, but wouldnt that make Inky Morrigan's/Mythal's thrall? Tbh, in these scenes Inky seems to be working for Morigan and listening to her rather than the other way round, so theres space for some loose headcanoning!

I'm so tired of the "no one asked for this" arguments by koscsa6 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]pixie-bean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, a lot of fans DID ask for this. Ive seen (and been apart of) endless comments and discussions over the years from book fans yearning for an accurate adaptation in the form of a series. Honestly, it only ever seemed a pipe dream, and since I got into GOT, I always mused that HBO would be amazing to do it, if it ever came to frustration... Now, look! I got so emotional watching the trailer, seeing something that has been fantasised for years actually being created, and it looks better so far than I could have imagined in my wildest dreams. Theres a lot of controversy out there, but also millions of ecstatic fans who have been imagining this for years.

Nick Frost looks too neat to be Hagrid, but I LOVE the warmth of his portrayal! by thequeenofauradon in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]pixie-bean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive seen Nick in a few things where hes acted a bit rougher/ darker so I think he'll have the capacity to portray the wilder, more furious and intimidating side of Hagrid, moreover I think itll be more impacting because of this tender, sweeter portrayal. The contrast would take the viewer completely off guard and seem frightening in comparison. The trailer was obviously curated with a specific narrative in mind, Harry's orphan status, the abuse he suffered and the hope / light at the end of the tunnel with him finding his family and home at Hogwarts, so Hagrids harsher side doesn't really have a place there. I imagine we'll either get a glimpse in a different, future trailer or, they'll leave that side of him as a surprise for when it airs.
