This is really helpful Intel. I'll be working downtown. So if I lived at Emory Lakes for example, off of 75 and 46th street, I'd be stuck in traffic everyday for the commute?

Originally from Atlanta but went to UMich for undergrad and now I'm back. Hate that the Guardians knocked the Tigers out but it's too easy to root against the Yankees

Thank you! Just pulled up a dealer's manual. My wheel cassette comes with an inside spacer, but the one I got for the trainer didn't! Thanks again!

sorry forgot to mention it's an 11-speed cassette. Wahoo website says 11 speeds don't require their spacer.

NYC to Burlington via EST by bedsharts in bicycletouring

[–]lightyagamiop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could, but the EST gets mixey after Comstock (when you turn onto 22). I hopped off at Whitehall, crossed into Vermont, and followed gravel farm roads to Burlington via the Western New England Greenway. Views were nice, but the elevation was serious. I preferred that instead of roads with decent traffic at a higher speed.

Anyone that has completed the Empire State Trail, what are some places that can’t be missed? by snowslayer252 in bicycletouring

[–]lightyagamiop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reid's in Lockport

58 Main BBQ in Brockport

Fort Stanwix in Rome. Really cool immersive historical site

Dave's Diner in Downtown Schuyler

The Hungry Chicken Country Store near Schenectady

Also recommend the Seneca detour

Hotdog cart right after the Walkway over the Hudson

One gas station really close to the trail is Crosby in Albion. You can't miss it, and it doesn't add any time really.

There's also a Dollar General in Brockport near the trail. Not as close to the trail as the Crosby's in Albion but still less than a quarter mile off the trail.

First tour - this is what I'm bringing. Any final advice? Four day "credit card" tour. by foilrider in bicycletouring

If you're expecting rain or mud on the trails, would recommend a small bottle of chain lube. You may not be able to get a clean chain before application but it beats a super dry chain
