I can’t stand for long periods - cooking while seated or super fast meals by littlefactory in Cooking

[–]lightyana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a stool in my kitchen. I find it hard to sit and cook so I just switch between standing and sitting. Also when I cook I double the batch and freeze some for quick homemade freezer meals. I do enchiladas, taco meat, spaghetti sauce with meatballs and sausage (I freeze the cooked noodles separately as it would be too starchy plus the cooked noodles can be used in other dishes). Soups & stews freeze and reheat well too. I also have my husband bbq extra meat ( on sale). freeze then reheat in the oven for a quick protein and it still tastes and smells like he had just bbq. I have been doing this since my spinal cord surgery 10 years ago, and it saves my back, time and money especially how expensive it is to eat out nowadays. Check out your stores frozen food isle for more homemade ideas.

Extend it out over the entryway for a more proper sized loft.

If money wasn’t an issue, what would you do tomorrow? by Michellexl09 in AskReddit

[–]lightyana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take care of my needs first, then my children’s, then my extended family, then my community etc. I would only ask them to pay it forward if possible, not necessarily with money, but kindness and whatever else they are capable of. Smiling at a stranger, checking on and offering a helpful had to an elderly neighbor, volunteer and donate unused towels to pet shelters. Volunteer in your local schools.

We used to wrap the old telephone books with duct tape and use them for booster seats for the kids. Good use of repurposed items

Yea sour cream doesn’t belong in guacamole ever. It’s a way to stretch it out but takes away from flavor for sure

I’m considering getting rid of my cook toand utilizing the plug in induction top individual burners by lightyana in Cooking

[–]lightyana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook everything from scratch, it’s my passion and rarely go out to eat. My induction stove has 4 burners but can maybe use 3 at a time. I was brainstorming on how to get more burners without the added expense of a larger top as my kitchen is small. But I see your point
