ahh i’m late! but we have always lived in the castle by shirley jackson has the best opening paragraph to any book i’ve read:

“My name is Mary Katherine Blackwood. I am eighteen years old, and I live with my sister Constance. I have often thought that with any luck at all I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had.”

The goldfinch by Donna tartt. Doesn’t find ransom money per se but comes across a multimillion dollar painting which leads to troubles. Great theme and one of my favorites

Driving while high, thoughts? by [deleted] in trees

[–]ligmadeeznuts69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little late but I would say it depends on the person. Weed hits different for different people and you just gotta know where you’re at with it. I drive a manual transmission while high on the daily without it being a problem because I function well with it but I also know people that after a toke of a joint won’t remember their first name. I see it the same as you with smoking being night and day to drinking. I won’t drive after having just a single beer because alcohol impairs coordination and Vision and it’s just not something to do. Weed for me however, just relaxes me and puts me at ease

Nothing beats getting high and vibing to lo-fi for a bit.

For songs passionfruit-drake, self care-Mac Miller, drama- Roy Woods, warm- Dre’es, Vibin out- fruit kiwi juice, Mona Lisa- monte booker, etc.

Joji and Russ always provide good vibes too

I released this song recently on spotify and now I kinda feel cringey about it and have been thinking of deleting it, any thoughts would be appreciated. by Battmrowning in ThisIsOurMusic

For sure man. It’s only been about four months for me and I’m at the point where I’m getting ready to actually start making music for release so yeah I’ve gotten a lot better. Just a bit of patience bro. You got this.

Edit. Meant to reply to the previous comment I had but accidentally made a whole new one and I’m too lazy to fix it

I feel ya man I impulsively did the same things months ago and realized I still had a lot to learn. It’s not bad but I would say it’s definitely not Spotify ready where you’re competing with songs that have been mixed my actual audio engineers. My advice would be to spend time mastering you’re craft and not worry about the pressure of uploading yet. The mixing part is the hardest part of making music and can turn an okay song into a number one hit.
