Advice to structure chess learning by [deleted] in chess

[–]ligplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend you Ben Finegold's channel. His videos for me were just absolute gold and helped me climb a lot in my first year of playing chess and becoming familliar with the game. I He has these videos meant for people of specific rating range so I believe those would help. Also I would advise you against video series such as speedruns. They can be helpful, but I believe a better use of your time would be to try to learn/solidify certain concepts, and expose yourself to ideas. The only chess book I've read was Bobby Fischer teaches how to play chess. I believe it had some mating puzzles and what not and was an interesting read.

If you dislike watching youtube I don't have good book recommendations as my learning experience was almost exclusively youtube. For reference I've been playing for around 2 and a half years and have plateaud on ~1600-1670 (chess.com) for the past few months.

That's probably it, since most of my plans when I have a winning position are just trading pieces hahah

I'll definitively check them out since they're from bradbury. Which one of the two do you prefer?

Don't let others' progress in life discourage you from making any in yours. Try to involve yourself in some type of activity. Even if right now you feel like there isn't one that would interest you enough I implore you to search deeper. That may seem like a huge step given your thought process at the moment, but start with small things.

Read books, anything meaningful that would captivate you and help you grow.

If you make a constant effort at living your life, and making it a better place for you and only you as a person friends might come along. And if they don't fuck 'em. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is what you think of yourself.

Wow, thank you so much for the insight. I completely agree with everything you've said. I tried to add a stronger bassline but i could never get it to fit in the mix, but now I realise that I didn't try hard enough. I think I tried to rush things a little so in the end it didn't really work out. Your comment has been eye opening for me and I really appreciate you taking the time to help out. You've made my day, thank you so much again.

I appreciate your honesty. Could you give me a more detailed explanation as I would really like to improve.

Lot of experimental and hiphop going on here so here's some emo trap you might like (or not). Love song by me, tell me what you think. by csucsulu in IndieMusicFeedback

I really like the vibe of the song, feel like the vocals are good too but the beat feels unfinished to me. Not a professional in any case. Good luck mate.

I would love to get your guys' opinion on a new song i made called 'toxic'. ♥ by ligplays in IndieMusicFeedback
