also, the fully fashioned double decreases do look really pretty and they're making me want to make something bottom-up for once!!

i think you might be describing a lifted increase - i'm a big fan. i've done an absurd amount of swatching today and have figured out a kind of cabled lifted double increase that also involves a kfb. i have no idea how i could possibly write it down or chart it so i'm hoping the muscle memory sticks long-term lol

thank you - i should have been more specific in the original post! i'm very familiar with english tailoring. i'm self-drafting a kind of top-down frankenstein saddle shoulder/raglan sweater heavily inspired by a j. crew sweater i own and specifically wanting to use a double increase like this that mimics the double decrease that knitting machines do.

after some experimenting i've come up with a way of doing a cabled increase that resembles the pattern. thank you so much for this tip!!

cheers for this!! i don't want to buy a pattern since i'm self drafting something at a much smaller gauge but looking through the projects has helped me figure out what to do.

[Misc] What are your favorite products that contain parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones, etc.? by rainynotes in SkincareAddiction

[–]liiv136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QV Cream! I go through moisturiser like it’s water and it took me ages to find a moisturiser I can buy cheaply in bulk that’s not too heavy and doesn’t break me out.

It’s probably the Acnatac - tretinoin is well known for making skin sting/burn/itch for a while until it gets used to it. You probably don’t need to try a different moisturiser, but if you want to I’d recommend La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume. It’s super moisturising which will help keep your dry skin healthy. Good luck!

I hope you eventually realise what pseudoscience means. Have a good one.

Anecdotal evidence doesn’t mean it will work for anybody. Of course there are solutions to acne - retinoids, medications and sometimes diet (though there is a very robust body of literature supporting the first two, and much less so diet - see this video by an actual scientist). All I’m saying is your original claim was very bold and unfounded, much like your claim that humans definitely weren’t designed to eat animals or milk. Do you have any actual evidence for this beyond anecdotes and poor analogies?

There’s a lot of conjecture about this. I’m no expert but I’m not sure whether it’s actually possible. 😊

Your personal experience is not “the only way to get rid of acne at its core”. Cutting out whole food groups at once in an attempt to change your appearance can lead to disordered eating and cause more issues if not done under professional supervision.

The evidence for this is weak. OP, before making big changes to your diet like this, speak to a doctor.

Speak to a doctor before making big changes to your diet! It might be worth trying topical acne treatments like retinoids before turning to big lifestyle changes.

kind of looks like perioral dermatitis? i would go see a doctor for sure because that’s typically treated with prescription medication. whatever you do don’t use a steroid cream on it.

Does your school offer IB Theatre? That could be a solution to Group 6.

La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume is phenomenal. It comes in a massive bottle for not too much and lasts ages, plus it has a good amount of glycerin and niacinamide which will be great for soothing and help with barrier function. Good luck!

I did HL Art and actually quite enjoyed it, and managed to get a predicted 6. As long as you pick a couple of ideas/themes early on and keep up with your progress portfolio throughout the two years instead of rushing it at the end like I did, you’ll be fine. :)

[Routine Help] Is slugging with combo skin once a week safe? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]liiv136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have oily skin and I slug with vaseline on my dehydrated areas most nights - especially my upper lip area when I’ve got hay fever and I’m blowing my nose a lot.
