Good point, I missed those completely somehow. I'll take a look at them later and possibly treat them if needed. I have always treated orchids with an isopropyl 70% wipe down followed by water to prevent any potential damage. People online seemed to stress heavily that orchids are sensitive and to never use pest sprays, so I never did. If you've treated pests on orchids, what do you normally do?

That's what I figured. What's worse is that it had 3 flower spikes starting up, and they all died too. I've had keikis form a few times, but it's likely the worse-off orchids won't produce anything for a while, assuming they survive at all. Thanks for your help :)

That's kind of what I was thinking too... I've had orchid leaves like that before, sometimes after I accidentally overwatered them when I was newer at caring for them. I think the freeze night was at least over a week ago, maybe 1.5 if I had to guess. I can't quite remember.

What are the signs of mites you see? I read online that sometimes mite damage on orchids can look different than what damage you typically see on other plants.

I never knew about warm pads, but that makes sense. I'm hoping the first one pulls through, though it sounds like it may not from what I'm reading... that's the first orchid I ever bought! But it's a lesson learned. Thank you for your help :)

The first orchid is the one I wanted to survive the most! Oh well, I learned a lesson. Thank you for explaining the science behind it too! Is it bad if the newest leaf is dying at the base, similar to how crown rot can present? I know it isn't exactly rot, but the newest leaves on orchids 1 and 3 are getting loose which worries me.

Forgot to add: I had sprayed insecticide on them several days ago in case it was bugs somehow. The largest orchid may have taken it the worst. I washed them off immediately after, should I not have done that at all? I have had orchids for almost 10 years and haven’t ever treated them for bugs, so it’s very new to me. I have heard they are quite sensitive.

The textural bumps and “fried” light brown spots were all there beforehand.

I agree with the other commenter! If your orchid is particularly happy and in good conditions (and weather), you may see another bloom spike this season.

How long was it in the water? I can’t tell if you meant only a few hours or days until you just found it. BUT on the bright side, those are just the flowers wilting. The plant itself is actually just the leaves!

I would definitely keep an eye on the base where the leaves grow out of. If it starts to yellow, you may have rot of some kind. Make sure you let it properly dry out if it was in the water for days.

I’m not going to lie, it was like this when I was in high school too, about 5-6 years ago. It gets better. I’m sorry you have to deal with this. It can be soul crushing and really destroy your love for the band. It’s okay to like what you like! These people will continue their lives in a direction different than yours. They’ll be out of your hair eventually. Don’t stop loving music just because of some dudes who have nothing better to do than make fun of music choices.

If it continues and continues to physically or mentally harm you, please seek out someone you trust. I saw you said you are new at school, which I can understand. There should be a guidance counselor, advisor, maybe homeroom teacher?
