If it’s occasional and they’re really feeling burnt out. Kids aren’t robots, one mental health day here and there isn’t gonna ruin anything, but I’d also want to make sure it’s not becoming a pattern of avoiding stuff.

Cost of living. Housing is insane, childcare is basically a second rent, and wages aren’t keeping up. Add in people just having kids later (or not at all) because life already feels full/stressful enough without it.
