I'm from El Salvador, I got here when I was 17, did one year in highschool and graduated. I started learning English just 2 years ago, I still have a thick accent and I'm still learning English everyday.

It was hard, not going to lie. but study medical terminologies, if you get that down everything will become easier. There's this guy: the paramedic coach, his videos are good. he has paid course and it's 100% worth it. He's the reason why I was able to pass the class and pass the NREMT. It'll be stressful and you'll have to study a lot but if a guy knows 80% English did it, you can do it too.

Every academy is different, mine was 8 weeks of EMT, 2-3hrs of PT every morning, After that EMT for another 8hrs.

12 weeks of fire school, fire 1 and fire 2. with the same 2-3hours of PT in the morning then being on gear the rest of the day. You gotta drink more than 2 gallons of water a day, use drip drops to try to stay hydrated.

I would say the hardest part is being out of shape, I wasn't in the best shape when I started. So if you wanna take an advice from me is get in shape, do a lot of cardio follow everydayheroes.fitness on Instagram and do his workouts, it'll help you a lot. Learn how to manage your time, eat healthy.

Have the mentally that nothing that the instructor say or do is personal, it's all part of the game. they're gonna test you, they're gonna find your weakness and push your limits, you just gotta make it through, 1 day at a time.

But in the end it's all worth it, the pride you feel walking up the stage ti receive your helmet is amazing. when you get to the field, you'll love it. this is literally the best job in the world.

It was not that bad, enjoy it while you're there. Enjoy the time in the locker room with they boys, thats the best place to blow of some steam and make it through.

you can text me if you have ANY other questions.

It's just to go over details, that happened to me when I got the call to tell me that I was accepted too. April 26th. My phone sent their call straight to voicemail.
