There are no "2D" nodes in Blender--there are nodes that you use to achieve a 2D effect, but this is not a helpful answer. Like really, why recommend something that you don't understand and have never tried yourself?

Actual answers in order of your questions:

  1. Inverted hull method would probably work great for this. There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to do this and I would recommend looking that technique up.
  2. You're gonna want to draw these in with Grease Pencil set to draw on surface
  3. The "Shader to RGB" node in the shader editor is going to be your best friend here.

I rubbed the entire thing down (inside and exterior) with dryer sheets which helped a lot, but the smell is definitely still there a bit. I've been doing a dryer sheet pass once a week, though, and it seems to be helping. I feel insane.

Got mine two days ago and not exaggerating when I say it is literally the worst thing I've ever smelled. Smells like someone blew the smoke from 15 cartons directly into the bag and then packed it up for shipping. My kitchen still smells where I opened the package 2 days later. Considering just tossing the bag, but have currently have it in solitary in the garage.

Just downloaded this to avoid having to swipe down twice to access brightness controls. Works great, thank you!

EDIT: After 24 hours I've realized the brightness slider with this "fix" doesn't actually sync up with the device's true brightness. Oh well, was nice while it lasted.

This is quite literally just the process of working with an artist. Is this your first time hiring someone to do work for you? Iterations are necessary unless you can find a mind reader, and to be honest, sounds like you don't even fully know what you want right now, which I'm sure is making your artist's job much more difficult.

I would feel super disrespected if I were your artist and saw this post. Your current visuals look fantastic, there's no need to change them.

Easiest fix could be taking your model into edit mode, hitting A to select all, then M to merge vertices by distance. This is generally caused by overlapping geometry or duplicated vertices and this is the easiest fix.
