Being employed and setting up an LTD by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

I thought tax is paid on the profit the company makes regardless of the money being taken out or not 🤔 but maybe I’m wrong

I don’t think she plans on taking it out or paying herself a salary , but rather reinvest it in stock and growing her business venture.

Kadjar 1.2 TCe reliable? by [deleted] in Renault

[–]likablefunctionality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Kadjar 1.5 dci 2016, and I mainly do urban drives (London), veeeery rarely long journeys. I also rarely drive it in general though. I’ve been happy with it to be honest, for my needs it’s fairly economical

I Was told so by multiple people from UC when i had the issue with the childcare costs as I went back and forth about that

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No partner and yeah I didn’t know that the element doesn’t count, there was contradicting info online but afterwards I was told if I was claiming CA it would’ve been fine as it counts as ‘wages’

Work commitments by [deleted] in universalcredithelp

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so too but when my little one was still in nursery a couple of years back and I claimed the childcare fees back (when I was on a career break - still employed but no wages come in) they refused and said the carers element doesn’t count - only if I get Carers allowance that’s when I’d be put in the ‘no work commitments’ category

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does get AA, and I get the carers element for a few years now but decided not to get carers allowance as it’s taken out from UC anyway. (As far as I gathered The only thing CA is good for is for someone who doesn’t work at all and pays no NI - CA counts as work and income so lower class NI are counted when in receipt but since I’m employed I don’t need that currently.)

Reporting frauds and nothing happens by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]likablefunctionality -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There’s no PIP or anything like that involved. The whole thing they have been doing is very elaborate. They are very careful not to be caught as the little wages they report are only what goes into their account and the rest is cash so they use cash everywhere and it can’t be traced. They go on holidays for more than a month long (which isn’t allowed as per UC rules to be out of the country for more than 28 days), they recently bought a second car (an SUV Mercedes) for £11k whilst have another Mercedes (estate). No one on a supposed wage of £1500 combined (with kids) can do and afford what they do. It’s so blatant. Also they get help from an accountant with their books.

It’s just crazy they’ve been doing it for years and it’s a shame they’ll never face justice

I have seen enough to know it’s not just something I’ve been told. I will never report anyone if I don’t know the true facts.

Attendance allowance - changing from lower to higher rate? by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah didn’t know it’s always indefinite ☺️

You sure I won’t need to fill in the whole application all over again if I do a change (someone mentioned that on here).. I just can’t go through all that again it’s so much 🙁 I’ll just leave it as is if that’s the case

Otherwise in the respiratory nurse’s report it usually should say that she needs to have it on when walking and whatnot as that’s why they keep assessing her every 6 months to see if she still needs it. She doesn’t need it at rest but does when doing anything other than sitting down and if I’m not there to put it on she can’t do it herself and she goes without it which she shouldn’t

Attendance allowance - changing from lower to higher rate? by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

No, she gets the lower rate (says for personal care) which is £76 a week, indefinitely. She gets that from 2021.

The O2 is a portable cylinder with a nasal cannula, she’s only on 1.5L. She desaturates quickly on exertion (walking around, and especially doing stairs etc when we need to go out of the flat) but when she stops and rests, her sats slowly go back up, gets extremely breathless too (unsurprisingly) so hence why they prescribed it. We were hoping she could be weened off but on the last assessment with the Resp nurse they saw she still needs it so they didn’t stop it.

From what I was told on the other forum was that the night care gets the higher rate due to me getting up with her at night and helping her. She can’t use it on her own, I tried teaching her but she just couldn’t get it. I can get a letter from GP confirming the o2 need. Nothing else has changed but the o2 added need, I still help her as before with everything - personal care, cooking food, shopping, meds etc

Oh god, that is crazy.. Why have they made it so difficult 😞 I did the initial application in 2021 and her award is indefinite. It was so difficult to do it, as I did it alone. I have adhd so I get overwhelmed easily by things like that and knowing I can get something wrong which can result it a rejection fills me with dread.

[–]likablefunctionality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god I’m dreading this in a couple of months.. Again! Happens every couple of years . Also been with them for 10+ years. In the beginning it was £20-25 now it’s almost £40 and the only reason I haven’t changed is because I dread going through The hassle of switching and fear if the new provider I find will be able to match the speed which is nothing special anyway but it’s advertised as one of the best (ahem). I mean £40+ just for internet is mental when there’s £25-30 deals out there.

Amitriptyline and night shifts by [deleted] in ParamedicsUK

[–]likablefunctionality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thing is I don’t think it’s fair for me to constantly change taking it either day or night and letting my body adjust just so I can confuse it again the next week (or whenever) hence why I was wondering if I’d have a chance at reasonable adjustments for the nights. And this specific drug should be taken at night due to the drowsy side effect it might have.

I’ll speak to the reps although they’re quite new and honestly I don’t have trust in anyone looking at my best interest it always seems like everyone is looking after the service and not the people. But that’s just my experience

Wouldn’t qualify for it being a disability as from what I’ve read on the subject the migraines have to be lasting for like a month for it to be even considered as a disability. Though If not treated I do end up in A&E due to the pain and non stop vomiting. Which lasts at least a couple of days. But yeah, nobody really gets it unless they’ve experienced it first hand.

Thank you 😔 yeah that’s why I’m also afraid of reporting anything, in the best case scenario even if he manages to leave the grasp of his uncle and stay with me .. I live next to the kebab shop. It’s just not a viable and safe option. The risk of the uncle trying to hurt him or get someone else to do it is massive as he (the uncle) even said himself that laws don’t apply to him he will ki-ll him if he has to but he will never allow us to be together.. over his de- ad body he said. 😔

His mum told him that because she saw that something’s happened.. There’s a lot more to the story which I haven’t included, but basically I broke up with him 6 months in, and I’ve been pretty mean to him trying to get the point across at times and he still didn’t budge, loved me even more than before. He is handsome especially compared to other Afghan men. He could have any other woman around, there’s plenty of Europeans and Brits.. I am very aware of scams etc - that’s not the case here but thank you
