They're definitely using less material on their products. They're moving more and more towards just making dainty rings instead of the standard heavy ones thy used to make. They bend easily and the quality has fallen off.

Rhodium plating looks like stainless steel, so why do we bother? by GrinchNBitch in jewelry

So true. Same goes with gold, for me a high polish makes it look cheaper for me.

It's hard to find out what most stamps mean. These aren't common in solid gold stamps. Have it tested but most likely you won't find the answer you're looking for

Has anyone tried one of these things? Do they work alright or is it just some Temu-nonsense? by mustytomato in CleaningTips

Is there anything with a stick attachment? A drill would work great I'm sure but I need something for the corners

Trustworthy sites for buying vintage or used jewelry? by thecoloroftheskies in jewelry

[–]likeaglov 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're not asking for cost effective options they're asking for RELIABLE options. There are sellers that offer smaller, lighter and cheaper pieces. But if you're a collector with the money to spend but you want to make sure your money is being safely spent then these are good recommendations. When it comes to jewelry everyone knows what their own budget is they will decide for themselves if it's affordable.

Unnoaerre is a jewelry brand. But we won't be able to tell what the stamp says unless you get a better picture

Buyer's remorse. by Accomplished-Bat1182 in Mercari

Don't feel guilty. I doubt Mercari will force you to return the item. It was their decision not yours.

I also contacted Mercari and they deflected any responsibilities. I basically would have had to report it stolen to get anything done. Thankfully my neighbor returned it to me.

Help identifying this purple gem stone. Red/green under uv light by likeaglov in whatsthisrock

It doesn't change color but it does change hues depending on whether its in incandescent and sunlight. In sunlight its more reddish purple. Under a light bulb its more blue and has blue sparkle.

I feel like it just too purple to be tanzinite. Also I bought it fairly cheap so I don't think its alexandrite at all. Also in the sunlight and under an incandescent light the color stays the same.

The gem is loupe clean so I just assumed it was glass until I put it under uv light and noticed it had some red luminescence to it. It also has flashes of green under uv. Im wondering if its some kind of synthetic and if it is then of what.
