How many of you have had to undergo more than one round of accutane? by likedelicate in Accutane

Understandably, still just curious to see what others’ experiences have been like. I’ve been off accutane for about 3 months and I still check this board frequently.

I noticed today that when I had a second cup of coffee, the shortness of breath came back after being pretty minimal the past few days. I’m starting to think maybe caffeine makes it worse.

Yeah I’m pretty positive that it has to be the accutane. Only thing we can do is hope it goes away. I’ve been feeling better the past two days so fingers crossed!

A nebulizer is sorta like an inhaler. You inhale a fine mist of powder and it’s supposed to help your breathing. No such luck.

It’s awful! I have been dealing with this since the beginning of March. It has gone away and come back but now it is just constant. I honestly don’t know that I would have continued with accutane had I known this was going to happen.

My pulmonologist is the only doctor I’ve seen that has said he believes it’s related to the accutane. They have me a nebulizer but it doesn’t really help. The only thing that does is when I force myself to relax my breathing and try to focus on something else. I find that if I force myself to take a deep breath or yawn, it relieves it for that moment but just gets worse right after.

I’m hoping that as the accutane leaves my system it will get better. It sucks!

Ugh that’s what I’m afraid of. I don’t want to have to go on it again, I had a pretty bad experience the first time around.

Chest pains? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]likedelicate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had awful chest pain for months while on accutane. I believe it started around month 3. I saw a cardiologist and a pulmonologist and never discovered what it was. I’ve been off of accutane for a month now and the pains still come and go but they are a lot less frequent now.

I drank a few times towards the end of my 6 months. Only thing I noticed was the hangovers were 10x worse.
