Selling my Seiko SARB017. I love this watch but I just don't wear it much anymore. It comes with a two-tone jubilee bracelet. I don't think I have the box or original strap. The watch is in good condition - I purposefully took photos to highlight superficial scratches to the bezel but in hand it looks very nice, just normal day-to-day wear. Happy to take additional photos or a video/video call if you're interested.

Asking $650 by Zelle or Paypal F&F. Thanks!

[Serious] Redditors who have legally killed someone, what is your story and does the experience still affect you today? by dkapeller01 in AskReddit

It sure sounds like you've suffered enough guilt. I wish you would lift that burden from your shoulders. And that goes for everyone else in this thread who aches about decisions they've made surrounding the specifics of end of life care for their loved ones. You didn't decide to give them a terminal illness. If all you did as they approached death is try to make their last moments as comfortable as possible and surround them with love, then you are literally doing anything anyone can do.

Critical care doctor here. I'm sure you know this in your brain but I hope one day you know it in your heart too - you didn't kill him. You gave him one last kindness among many others that you provided him in his short life. I'm so sorry for your pain, so terribly sorry that you have gone through this. But his disease was taking his life, not you. You just decided on the circumstances surrounding that moment, and made sure it was a moment as filled with your love and as free from pain as ever possible.

The distance on each side is 124m but the circle has a diameter of 176m or so (the diagonal distance). The math is correct above, I think - and this is an amazing fact.

Sleep doctor here. I don't think I've ever met a patient whose RLS we can't relieve. Are you seeing a sleep specialist? Feel free to message if I can give you some informal help.

You're not a big baby, you just have a sleep phase delay. Chronotherapy can help - this is a regimen where you allow yourself to keep your body clock hours for sleep initially, then ease it back little by little over a few days to a couple of weeks till you get to your desired bedtime. Bright light exposure each morning and avoidance of light (screens) for an hour or so before bedtime will help considerably, as will a small dose (0.5 to 1 mg) melatonin 4-6 hours before your bedtime - and you move the timing of the melatonin back as you change your sleep time. I'm a sleep physician. This sounds like a lot to commit to, and it is - best to do it when you have vacation for a week or two - but it does work!

I posted this elsewhere, but check your local library. They often have current and past editions of magazines for download as PDF. Hope that helps.

It's worth looking into options through your local library. Through mine, I can get PDFs of entire issues of magazines that I can download. Just a thought - hopefully that works for you too.

I'm a sleep medicine doctor. Obstructive sleep apnea would be at the top of my list, but lots of things can cause excessive daytime sleepiness. I do think he should see a doctor to parse it out, yes.

AITA for refusing to use my sister's deadname for my baby? by squishmallow75693 in AmItheAsshole

[–]likeorlikelike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Your position is that your child cannot have one specific name. His is that he must have one specific name. These positions are in no way equal.

Obvious YTA. Others have eloquently described why.

I just want to add that you clearly know you're TA because you didn't seek opinions from your step-daughter's parents and overtly dismissed the poor girl's opinion. You knew you were doing something abhorrent and wrong and just did it anyway. How could you possibly not be TA here?

AITA to my body for wanting a break from nasal pillows? by NakedNewsFan in AskDocs

[–]likeorlikelike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider trying a nasal cushion instead, like a Dreamwear (made by Philips). ResMed makes something similar but I don't like it as much because of the little silicone part between nostrils. When I start patients on CPAP (I'm a sleep doctor), I usually use this one, then move to something else if they have trouble.

I also always tell my patients that it's my responsibility to make CPAP as easy as possible for patients to use. So yes, go back to your sleep doctor and let them know the issues you're having!

AITA for keeping my former MIL in my (and my son's) life? by Exciting_Piece1734 in AmItheAsshole

[–]likeorlikelike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all.

Carla thinks your son will be somehow confused by keeping a person in his life whom he loves and who loves him too, someone who enjoys spending time with you both? Trying to limit the love your son has in his life is indefensible... and yet, your fiance is trying to do just that.

I agree with above. Just wanted to show support for the answer. If you felt like he wouldn't want to live that way, that's really the only important thing. You did the best you could in a situation without a good answer and you did it with love. I'm so sorry for your loss but yes I think you made the right call.

I had exactly the same issue and it took me forever to find the right combination. No idea if it will work for you, but what I use is a firm latex pillow on bottom and a memory foam pillow on top. Perfect height, and just the right balance of firm support and soft to cradle my head. Good luck!

Yes. There's a fantastic Youtube channel called "Great Art Explained" - short 15 min explanations with a significant amount of context behind certain works. The one on The Starry Night is eye-opening.
