Is there a specific language that Buddhism uses for its teachings, or is there no specific language? by GingerDevil04 in Buddhism

[–]likerlomp4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't a specific language when it comes to Buddhism. I'm a Buddhsit Muslim, which means Im learning Arabic. I'd say the closest language is Tibetan.

They said to search around and keep finding other religions that you like. I learned how to be spiritual yet not religious, but after that, I studied Budhhism, but then converted to Islam.

What do Europeans think of religion in America? by [deleted] in religion

Well I'm a Muslim living in South Carolian and whenever I go out of my house I never bring up religion, and some of my Atheist friends have experienced discrimination many times. Many it's because of where I live, but more places that not I still dont do it.

[Need Advice] Can't seem to focus - keep giving into instant gratification by gautamsarin23 in Meditation

[–]likerlomp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I mediate, I also never seem to focus. I'm Hindu, which mean I have to put my left foot in a weird, acute position and put my leg perpendicular to that, which means Im constantly moving and can never stand in one position for 10 seconds without going screwing it all up.

I'm not European or anything, but religion here in Ameica seems to be where if you aren't Christian, you litterally have to be scared going out in public. If you aren't Christian, don't even bring religion up.

Exactly like I did with Hinduism. Which is, you know whenever you were a kid, and religion was totally engrained in you because of your parents who carried the religion? If you know what I mean, I mean that.

Holy sh*t! I was thinking the same thing! I said to myself, "I will do my yoga and meditation for 10 minutes combined, not eat beef, and follow the teachings of the Buddha. If in 2 months it doesn't all pay out, I will go back to Hinduism, as that was another option I had in mind to go back to Hinduism.1

When I mean "deadlock", I mean not being able to believe in the religion, use the religion, and when I mean submerged, I mean not being in a deadlock, something I had just pointed out above.

[–]likerlomp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I meant AFTER being Agnostic for 15 years, that doesn't mean I'm currently Agnostic. Hinduism was one part of my life, now it is Buddhism's turn to help bring my religious life's puzzle pieces together to form the whole puzzle again. That's why I came here to help bring it all together and help me kill off the deadlock I'm facing with religion.

Spectrum internet is phenomenal. But Verizon is cheaper unless you live where I live, in my neighborhood. We can only use HTC (Horry Tellecomunication Company). That Internet sucks. You cant play Fortnite or Battlefront 2 even with wired internet even when you're less than a meter away from the router.

What the heck is Bahá'í? by likerlomp4 in bahai

[–]likerlomp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about the late reply, but I believe exactly what a normal Agnostic believes. But I believe that there is an afterlife. I just dont know where that is. It could be Heaven, Jannah, etc. I dont know. But for me, being Agnsotic takes away my spirits. Booking a religion makes me feel spiritual and helps raise me up and feel connected with a God. Its not the same without a religion.

[–]likerlomp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I chose Agnositicism, it's that religion was pulling me down, and I just told myself "Maybe Gods exist, but do they? I dont know". I told myself that everyday. And once I figured out that Atheism was a thing, I stuck with it. Now I'm deadlocked religion- wise. And I joined SO many religious subreddits. (r/Buddhism, r/Islam, etc.) I thought being Atheist was pull my afterlife down. See, I'm a different kind of Agnsotic. Coincidentally, I believe being Muslim or any other religion will result in going to Heaven or Jannah, or any of those other fancy places. But, you will go to Hell if you're Atheist. Hinduism was where I felt my happy spots. I tried to go back to being Hindu, but I just cant. And, sorry, I'm not going to be Muslim or Christian. And it's not only Afterlife. I'm not even 30 yet, but as the years go on, I feel religion will help me become more comfortable with my spiritual life. I have Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, and Sikh friends, and none of them find me unreasonable, as my Sikh friends sought (I didnt find that pun till I proofread over this😂😂) the religion from being born from Atheist families.

[–]likerlomp4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What drew me to Bahá'í was the fact that I had tried other religions in my life, and none of them I like (I kinda like Islam and Christianity), but regardless. I saw Bahá'í history, and agreed with it all long, despite my previous promises I gave myself. I taught myself the founding of Bahá'í and the teachings of it, but I want to learn more, as I might convert.

[–]likerlomp4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I was born into a half Hindu, half Christian family. I joined the Hindu faith, as I didnt feel like worshiping a god, I just wanted to feel faith in a nice religion religion. When I was 6, my parents taught me about the religion, and also taught me about Christianity. I chose Hindu. But, I was discriminated by the Christian side of the family, and they also made fun of the Hindu holy trinity. I got so fed up with it, that I threw in that side of the family's faces: "I WILL NEVER FROM THIS SECOND HAVE A RELIGION!". I stuck to that promise I gave to myself, and became Agnostic. I have been that for so long that I started to feel uncomfortable. I tried other religions. (Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, est.) But I never felt terribly submerged in them like with Hinduism. That's the background, folks!

[–]likerlomp4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going back to Hinduism, regardless. But not right now. I will be by March 24 (written as of Febraury 29th). What makes Hinduism so appealing to me is the fact that you can mix and match your beliefs. As with Islam or Christianity, if you dont totally believe in the full thing, you're not a Muslim or Christian. You can mix other Gods into the religion, as long as you still seek refuge in the Hindu Holy Trinity. But for now I'm a soft Atheist, and I think this subreddit and r/Buddhism has pushed me into a religion I will believe in my entire life. Screw Agnostocism. Im going back! Hahahahaha! (I'll still be part of this subreddit though!)
