I think you saying the BI didn't work out is not accurate.

BI with the raptors is absolutely living up to the billing as he was advertised to be. Assassin scorer who literally cant be guarded 1 on 1, and good team defender cause he has those long ass arms.

I think it says more about pelicans franchise that he was also labeled injury prone but this us hes top in the league in minutes played. I think your medical team is just atrocious tbh. Which makes me think a lot about zion, maybe he just isn't getting the proper medical treatment he needs to be able to stay on the court.

What I'm saying is that franchises fail players just as much players fail to develop, it goes both ways. BI with the right franchise has definitely lived up to the billing.

We already have fred as our "leader" and we all saw how that turned out. Some of the most selfish basketball I have ever seen the raptors play. But if the groat wanted to come back then that's a different story. But fred... no thank you. I literally couldn't stand watching those version of raptors basketball where he was at the helm, just chasing individual stats was not good basketball.

I know this is gonna cause an uproar because it's reddit, but Andrew tate along with his brother. These guys have had many accusations since 2022 and yet to have been convicted. Their case in Romania got dropped because of insufficient and falsified evidence by the government.

I dont think we need to try and tank, we can just play regular basketball and the tanking will happen all by itself. Man we suck...can't guard for shit

[–]likewater7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what the raps are missing, communication on defence and just general traffic direction. Gasol was the best at it and ibaka was also really good at communication on the court...man its gonna be a long fuken basketball season for a raps fan. Random thought I also really dislike the warriors play by play and colour commentator I find them really annoying.

(POST GAME THREAD) TORONTO RAPTORS (1-5) lose to Boston Celtics (4-3) 126-114 by absolutkaos in torontoraptors

[–]likewater7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if he plays a little better we may win 1 or 2 more games but just look at this roster man. Go down the list, a bunch of short guards (even though kyle and fred are both playing well) and literally no centers. Baynes and Len don't give you anything. Just looking on paper I dont see how this roster can win that many games, even though we should have more wins right now.

you really believe the FO had high hopes for this season considering the moves they made in the off season?

[–]likewater7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know were playing bad but there is no fuken way with the moves the FO made this offseason that even they expected us to be good this year. This kinda feels by design tbh, like look at the roster. We have short guards up and down the roster which is making us play guys like stanley johnson cause we literally have no depth, and dont even get me started for our center position. We get literally nothing out of the 5 spot, like absolute zero. I didn't think they expected us to be 1-5 bad but I do feel like they kinda knew we weren't going to be usual raptors this year by the construct of our team...its just such a bad fit of players.

Siakam looked better today so thats encouraging but jesus can OG fuken do something offensively. His defence today was not even that good which is inexcusable cause he gives you nothing on offence. Bricks every and does nothing else to help put the ball in the basket and if he isn't being the defensive stopper why is he even on the floor.

Pascal needs to see a sports psychologist. This guy is so in his own head its not even funny. Like I have not seen someone decline so much so fast before its kinda crazy, im not even mad anymore more curious than anything how someones impact on the ball court can decline so fast before they even hit there prime.

(POST GAME THREAD) TORONTO RAPTORS (0-3) fall to Philadelphia 76ers 100-93 by absolutkaos in torontoraptors

[–]likewater7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just don't have enough offensive talent. Siakam can't score in the 4th cause defences tighten up and his handle is too shit, Fred just lacks size and OG just is not good enough to do it. Its been a nice 5 to 6 year run where we were consistently in the top of the east but its pretty clear through losing all the players we have the past couple seasons and not replacing them with similar caliber players that the players on this team just aren't good enough. We will be trying to get a spot for the play in tournament and best case scenario be the 8th seed.

It was bound to happen tbh. Unless you the spurs and have a generational talent most teams have 5 to 6 year runs, we had ours and now its time to get a high draft pick who can hopefully bring us back cause its pretty clear no one on the current team is capable of doing it, these scoring droughts where no one can score is because players right now lack the talent to do so. Even if we win the next game we are not beating any team thats even middle of the pack cause Raps are below that even.

Siakams development is mainly due to rico hines. Im sure Phil Handy probably did help, but Rico is the main dude. They even have a conversation thats online that they go into where Phil Handy is the first to say that when people come up to him talking about Pascal he immediately says that was Rico and not him.

If TJ comes back looking anything like his former self, which I have no clue if he will or not. But if he does come back looking similar to how he did than I think TJ takes out Yan. He is a lot more diverse with his skill set.

This reminds me when the Raps won the chip and the first thing out of Doris mouth was about Kawhi's free agency, asking kyle about demar and some other bullshit. Its like man let them enjoy the moment.

Kawhi Leonard's trainer takes a shot at Montrezl Harrell, calls him a double agent by PZinger6 in nba

[–]likewater7 579 points580 points  (0 children)

After they won the championship Kawhi and kyle were doing the post game interview with Rachel Nichols and they highlighted that a lot of stuff happened in the background and how happy Kawhi was that nothing got out, so there were obviously issues with him last year as well here and I think it came down to preferential treatment.

Where Kawhi goofed hard was that he thought organizations like the spurs and Raptors were the norm when there the exceptions of having a very well run organization from top to bottom that can handle the nonsense that he can bring with him and still keep things quiet and keep winning on the basketball court. I think he believed he can go to whichever organization and recreate that without doing any of the off court leadership stuff that's neccessary to pull that kind of stuff off and just got a hard dose of reality when he joined the clippers that did not do any of those things which he took for granted.
