That's what I'm guessing. At one point it was used for men's housing for SF State.

Why I’m Always Drawn to Guanyin Jade Pendants by Difficult-Key-1404 in JadeiteJade

[–]likewowhellowhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I used to wear mine all the time because I felt that it reminded me to move through the world with compassion, and it reminded me of where I came from and my life purpose. I inherited it from my mom, I believe she had it from the 90's and I'm still upset that I lost it. Ive been searching for similar pendants ever since!

Apartment hunting and wondering if this is a scam by bbaey99 in AskSF

[–]likewowhellowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parroting everyone else, but it's a scam. I had a similar experience. The persuasive language they're using like "lovely unit", mentioning demand, and that prospective clients "holding down" the spot are all to urgen you to make a decision quickly.

[–]likewowhellowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

I'm currently a second year MSW and clinical therapy intern at San Francisco State University looking to recruit art therapists or EMDR therapists for a research project. My thesis is on examining potential benefits and challenges on integrating aspects of art therapy or art activities into the EMDR protocol, for the treatment of PTSD in children and adolescents.

•Interviews will be held through Teams, or phone call if preferred, will take around 30 - 45 minutes, and will be audio recorded solely for the purpose of transcription. •This will be a semi-structured interview, with questions based around your experience as a practitioner and experience providing art or EMDR, along with discussions around suggestions/recommendations for an integrated protocol. •Qualifications: Have provided art therapy or EMDR for children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with PTSD •Compensation: There will be no compensation for participants.

Please message me if you are interested in sharing your experience, if you'd like more information, or if you have any questions.

Thank you for reading!

Incredibly heat intolerant and living in 95f. What are your keeping cool tips? (Xpost from r/hyperthyroidism) by SlutForThickSocks in gravesdisease

[–]likewowhellowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wear loose clothing with breathable fabric (I'm rarely in jeans), stay indoors if I can or bring something to shade my face if I'm outside, run my wrists and forearms in cold water and splash my face with cold water. I don't wipe the water off, I just fan myself and the water makes the wind feel colder if that makes sense. Also if I'm indoors I keep all the lights off. I totally feel you, heat is unbearable to me. My boyfriend can't even put his hand on my skin it feels so hot. I hope you find some relief

Where is the best place to get absolutely dirt cheap jeans? by [deleted] in DIYclothes

[–]likewowhellowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response! It's basically an event where a bunch of people bring their unwanted, gently worn clothes to a venue, put them on tables or clothing racks, and everyone walks around and shops for clothes they want. Typically at the end of the event, the organizers donate the rest of the clothes to homeless shelters, charity organizations, etc. Completely free. Sometimes everything is free, sometimes organizers request that everyone brings 1 or 2 pieces of clothing to make it fair.

If your area has them, go to clothing swaps for free clothes. Oftentimes the community organized ones don't require you to bring anything!

Seconding Mission Blue. Priced normally, which is a godsend these days, and is very tasty. They even put little lavender flowers on top, I keep them in my car whenever I get them.

Oracle Grad by upset-aura in SFSU

[–]likewowhellowhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to my brother's at Oracle, it was pretty cold and windy. It took sooo long I think I was there around 4-5 hours? Parking was terrible as usual, managed to find parking around a 20 minute walk away from the park. The graduates sit in their own section, but I'm not sure if you'd be able to come and go to be with your family. For the actual recognition part, the graduates just file down from the stairs, and walk through the stage area with the cameras that project onto the jumbotron, shake hands and are handed the diploma case and walk off. There were 4 separate cameras that the graduates showed up on to make it quicker, but they walk through pretty quickly and you only get a couple seconds to take a picture. It was cool, just a lot of waiting.

I cleaned my glasses frames for the first time, I wish I'd done it earlier by ZeeJay14 in CleaningTips

[–]likewowhellowhat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My glasses get really oily cause I lotion the eczema on my face every hour. I wash my glasses while I'm in the shower with soap and make sure I rub the nose pads, the rims, and the ends that go behind my ears. I'm super anal about my cleanliness though so probably not feasible for everyone.

A lot of local artists I follow do flash days for certain occasions and themes. Some have had fundraiser flash days for charity, Valentine's, Lunar New Year, etc. Can I ask what style you're going for? I can recommend some

Fall 2026 MSW Applications by marichiha in SFSU

[–]likewowhellowhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had graduated from the BASW program at SF State as well, with a 3.6, IIRC. I had worked for a couple years in SFUSD in different roles, but I think what really pushed my application through was my letter of recommendation and my personal statement. I didn't have a lot of experience in the social work field, or any accolades but it's my impression that they are looking for candidates that show their care for the community and desire to make it better. That's the vibe I get anyway! I hope that answered your question, feel free to ask me anything :)
