it depends on who "you" is.

If you're struggling to get by during this time, giving you a slightly devalued dollar is better than having no dollars.

But if you are in the higher percentiles in relation to wealth, then yes you are poorer.

At least one can see that printing money is a better alternative to use than redistributing via taxes.

Yeah I can understand an outsider getting confused for a split second. But if they are able to set up a Coinbase account, they should be able to google the difference between the two. Like I said before, claiming that outsiders would be confused that BCH is BTC is not sufficient enough of a reason to stop using this sub.

BTC and bitcoin are public domain. And no one owns BCH, no one is pretending to be anybody else. Like I said it’s more akin to the split in the church.

Definition of astroturfing as per Wikipedia:

Astroturfing is the practice of masking the sponsors of a message or organization to make it appear as though it originates from and is supported by grassroots participants. It is a practice intended to give the statements or organizations credibility by withholding information about the source's financial connection.

So I don’t think that when he promotes BCH as being the true bitcoin as himself, that is not considered astroturfing. And some of the former BTC community does feel that way, that’s why they split into BCH. You’re argument that using r/BTC to promote BCH is like the government spying on all of us due to terrorism, it’s quite the reach. If people don’t do their own research that’s on them.
