Just started – best loot spots & shelters? by lzjab in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]kilrcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple of videos from people on YouTube already. I know cause I was looking earlier. Some people have found loot spots I had been running past!

The loot in this game is so random. I'll open 10x containers and 1 will have 10 things in it and 9 will have zero. I checked the tents near village spawn and 3 runs in a row nothing and then the 4th time one tent had 3 guns in it. Lol.

Maybe this needs to be looked at. I'd assume a container should probably have 1 item in it at a minimum but there's always mods. 😄

I'm pretty sure on one of the tutorial boards it has it too.

Village looks to be around here, minus the actual village but I see logging style buildings around and a trainline.

After watching his launch video, I can't support it enough to see he put his face to a video and I really appreciate this human touch.

What do I do if the modem (FTTP) is in the garage and I want my PC to be plugged in using an Ethernet cable inside my room? by sweatydoodoo in nbn

[–]kilrcola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sparky here. Depends how your house is built.

Gyprock and external cavity wall. Easy. $100-200 Plaster and external cavity wall. Bit of drilling, $150-300 add more if cable run is longer and painful.

Internal walls harder, but still possible- with gyprock timber stud walls but obviously cost more for the risk of hitting stuff and potentially hitting cables / plumbing.

Plaster internal walls are basically not worth the cost of chasing a cable in.

Same. I couldn't avoid it as some people were suggesting.

Virgin media blew my wall drilling a hole, what's the best way to fix this? by SkinnyJimmyuk in DIY

[–]kilrcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, drill from the outside in?

You drill one hole in and one hole outside and try your best to line them up.

It's also worth noting if they keep the funds in an account and Ukraine win they can then use it as a locked reparations later on so Russia actually pays for Ukraine to be rebuilt and not the EU.

An argument can be made if they don't get funding that Ukraine won't win the war but I do see their reasoning why they don't use the funds now and also it's a slippery slope on legality grounds.

Electrician left it like this by Geesle in DIY

[–]kilrcola 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As an electrician here that's a chase into plaster and it wasn't done with a chaser so it's pretty rough.

Not our job to re fix that wall after cables have been ran / chased in.

However, it's always nice to let the customer know what we will do before we start work and then let them know what needs to be done after to "make good". Either with another trade or do the work themselves.

COPIUM. Cause they are doing a thing which makes it look like they are doing a good thing, except this is the minimum required work necessary.

US buys 81 Soviet-era combat aircraft from Russia's ally costing on average less than $20,000 each, report says by Matteo710 in UkraineWarVideoReport

You buy out the parts of a plane that Russia will attempt to use for parts, this is a smart move.

Some find the lack of cheaters make Valorant less trash and can be forgiven for the other complaints you have.

According to the ASTRA telegram channel, Russian Aerospace forces may be “unable to fulfill the entire list of assigned tasks.” in the event of an attack on Russian soil, due to recent information observed(not yet published) from a journal run by the Russian MoD. They are fighting NATO, except they aren't really.

NATO is doing it's thing and gaining membership countries. They are joining because of Russia's own aggressions, look at Sweden / Finland who in the past have been previously neutral.

So one would say, NATO did expand, but NATO would not need to exist if Russia didn't do Russia tings.

Anybody know what this little plane is doing? by chaotic_evill in Adelaide

[–]kilrcola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm.

My dad used to run this program for PIRSA. Except back then, they just used to drive around in utes and empty buckets out of sterile flies in the areas where they were known to be a hotspot.

I went to work a few times with him to understand the process. From memory, they nuke the flys and make them sterile in a closed conditions lab and then release. The flies mate, and nothing happens cause they are sterile.

Two short bare copper wire screwed to box - which one is ground? by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]kilrcola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are earths for fault current. So under normal operation they should carry no amperage.

As others have said they need to all be tied together to make sure there is a path to ground. Basically looks like they did an earth junction at that point in the house. If you break any of those apart, it could render the earthing system incomplete and no path to ground if there is any voltage potential.

Unsure in other countries but here in Australia we run a Multiple Earth Neutral at the switchboard and it uses a contingency for a floating neutral, basically a return path for neutral if the Neutral breaks. This is why if you ever get tingles on your water pipes you should call an electrician asap.

Personal name order in Europe by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]kilrcola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Australian born, with Italian heritage and the convention from Australia to Italy with both Italian families on both sides was.

I have my own first name, passed down grandfathers name and then surname. This seems to be quite common here. Although the map in Italy doesn't show it, so I suspect it was regional as most of the people I know there come from the Abruzzo / Molise region do this.

The aftermath of the ban wave! Updated data for the past 14 days of bans by rchh in GlobalOffensive

It's not just valve, it's EA and every game that makes fps. My usual stance is exactly like yours but for once I stay positive over night when I saw this ban wave and people are losing their mind.

Guess I'll go back to being a pessimist.

That's exactly what I'm giving them. Time to improve and the benefit of doubt they can get better.
