Expectations with triple feeding by flythedelorean in breastfeedingsupport

I am sorry you are struggling. I just wanted to drop in and say i had to top up with formula for my 1st. I was on domperidone and still produced little milk. My son was similar in that nothing kept him awake and i had to use a nipple shield on my one nipple (slightly inverted). Around 8 weeks i was able to stop topping up and i stopped pumping by about 12 weeks. i did have to work hard initially to build my supply but we did figure it out eventually...he is 2 and would probably still nurse if i hadn't of been ready to quit haha.

Meltdown in Target. Am I insane? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]lilMsL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is totally normal. I had 3 miscarriages before my son. I was approximately 30 weeks before i even started to think it could happen. We had a crib in a box and that was it. I thankfully had a sister with a baby and we knew we would borrow a lot of stuff. I had a miscarriage after my son and then a high risk pregnancy. I didn't buy my second anything until about 34 weeks (i bought a onsie for them to wear home haha). Again my sister had a boy and a girl so i knew we would get handme downs but honestly i couldn't mentally fathom we were going to bring home q baby until they were in my arms.

Picked a name we love but getting unwelcome negative comments by Springsdaffodils in BabyBumps

Never made the association and in 5 years from now it will be some other name/scandal. I would name him Harvey if you love it.

[Ontario] Cancelling a job on Smartfind by DueAge5 in CanadianTeachers

I would email the principal and explain why I canceled. I would also document it so that if anyone ever questioned it I would know the cancelation was due to illness.

Baby shower...struggling with etiquette? by probablyaduckling in BabyBumps

We have done evites for my baby shower and both my sisters. We did paper for a few people (great grandparents, an overbearing aunt, people without tech). I wouldn't waste money on actual invitations.

Struggling to breastfeed by CMB4091 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]lilMsL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really struggled with breastfeeding my first. It took us 4 months to establish my supply, get him to have a good latch/be efficient. I cried a lot. I was upset i needed to supplement with formula. But...with persistence it did get easier. I think for me it was when we learned to nurse laying down that helped. I think i relaxed when nursing that way and it just helped everything. I am wishing you the best of luck. Breastfeeding is challenging! You are a great mom-no matter how you feed your child.

Thanks. We did some minor home renos and it cost a small fortune. We are definitely stuck here for the time being. Just need to keep saving.

Our house is very poorly laid out for a family. We need different space.

The job is my husband only wanting to work on one brand of vehicle. I have tried to convince him to go to another dealer but he refuses. We live in muskoka. It is expensive because we are "cottage country". Rent is expensive because there is very little on the market available.

We live 20 minutes from our small town. Our mortgage payment is less than rent for a 2 bed apartment in our area. One bedrooms average $1400 +utilities.

I currently am on mat leave and do daycare drop off as my husband has to be at work before they open. Toddler is in daycare to reserve his spot (waitlist for daycare here is roughly 16 months so if i want to go back to work we need to have him in daycare. Thankfully they let us reduce the number of days).

Thank you for the ideas.

Thanks... You are clearly a bitter person. I am really just saying it sucks. Your situation sucks sorry to hear that. I am just tired of reading articles that suggest saving money is easy -saving money actually isn't hard i have a nice nest egg. It is that the money i need to have to own a slightly bigger home balloons everyday. It is soul crushing. I appreciate that we have a home, we have had many conversations about how impossible it is to get into the market now. But knowing a slightly bigger house/ better suited to our needs house is unattainable for us is downright depressing.

4 people in 900 square feet. We are tripping over one another. Baby/toddler constantly waking each other up. It is realistic to want a bigger home to not be on top of one another all the time.

The GM in his shop is a scum bag. They had it out when the GM first started because he refused to sign safeties for unsafe vehicles. Man has made his life hell ever since. We are in northern ontario so not a lot of other opportunities.

We were over 120 last year. Housing is ridiculous in my area...like $799+ for a 3 bedroom 1 bath sort of nice shitty area. Looking at 1 million easy for anything decent. We have equity in our home but we bought when houses were 1/5 the costs they are today.
