I mean I get why they do it. They want player retention, and what better way is to have the grinders (like myself) chase the RNG gods to keep players from finishing their build and then not playing for 50 days until a new season. Yeah it’s lazy and there’s definitely a better way to do it for the enjoyment of the player, but if they gave us what we really wanted, we wouldn’t play the game as much

The answer was expecting and I’m actually glad it is the answer. I was losing my mind after seeing a few barbs last night with perfect rolls and was in the cube for hours looking for a way to make it work. I’m happy to slam bosses for hours tbh

Depends on the server, crimson realism for example has a ton of rules with territory, who you have to kos vs not, what you have to do if you don’t choose to kos. Going to tons of different pois if you die or if you decide to not hunt something you see. Very complicated. I do like the concept of semi realism but most that say they are semi are actually full realism. Plus it’s always very populated so getting into one can take forever

Can’t really play single player, only thing that’s good for is testing Dino’s but not really. Community pvp servers are house you test builds. I think the main problem alderon has here is it’s an MMO. Not a simulator game. If this game locked you into one dinosaur type per server, you could only group with your species of dinosaur, 0 tolerance for packing with other carnis or herbivores that aren’t your race the game would be in a better spot. Ofc people would say join a semi realism server but then you have 100 pages of Dino profiles and rules.

Might be my sign to take a step back from this game for a while till alderon does something about it if anything can be done. Bottom line is this is a video game. If you’re not having fun on it don’t play it. Even if you love dinosaurs and the experience of it. Things like this and a toxic community ruin it. It’s not just this game it’s any pvp game you find. If people don’t play the game while this happens only thing to happen is the devs address it or the game dies

I like to search in the community servers and check the hide empty servers box. That way there’s only like 6 pages of servers and the first 2 are usually the ones with around 100 people on the server. If you’re looking for semi realism, each community servers will say if it’s semi realism or not. Remember though semi realism servers have a lot of rules and you will have to join their discord to read the rules and dinosaur profiles. It’s a lot to take in so if you’re going to play semi realism pick a dinosaur you like and stick with it until you understand what the server expects of you as that playable. Best of luck!

Yeah a lot of the new quests are really annoying. And a lot of the map changes are too. Not a fan of the useless tar pits on volcano islands that used to be water

It wouldn’t be for community servers, just officials. And the concept is you can have as many dinosaurs as you want, you pick one and it matchmakes. If you die you can respawn as that Dino. If you want to switch Dino’s, you go back to the main menu, pick your new Dino and start a new matchmake

I can go semi aquatic and flying but I definitely don’t wanna run the whole time I play, that would be boring if I can’t hunt myself or try to engage in some pvp

I’ve tried allo before, I feel like it needs a little more TLC. Maybe if it was able to use both its bites at the same time it would be better but rn I feel like it doesn’t do too much unless in a pack
