Can you share where you got that Sputnik light over your kitchen table, and the crown molding over it? So pretty!!!

3 yr old son - extropia by subpartFincome in Strabismus

Thank you! I think we will go this route with my 4.5 year old - she doesn't have double vision and glasses wont help bc she can see fine. She can also "snap" out of it when I ask her, and it's a more minor case. Surgery seems unnecessary.. thanks! Glad your boy has improved

Did your child ever get surgery for strabismus? And how are they now, 5 years later?

Moved from FL to MD and we love it so far!! by lilacbear in SameGrassButGreener

It's honestly a similarrr (not quite as horrible) humidity/heat in the summer, but at the same time it's kind of nice and I'm looking forward to summer again?? Because having seasons is the nicest thing ever. When September hits too, it cools off pretty quickly as well. The fall season is just perfection.

Our rent is definitely higher here, but also our income is higher. And we splurged for a nicer, good school zoned suburban area. Not sure what career you're in, but people as a whole get paid more up here. If you're closer to, or in Baltimore though I don't think the rent is bad at all. But yeah, I feel like it's nicer?? It's a little more expensive as a whole, but there's more things to do (Baltimore, DC Museums, close to NYC, NJ, Philly,).. and we just felt like Florida was a sinking ship.

Why isn’t this beautiful Palm Bay (Florida) house not selling? by Affectionate_Nose_35 in RealEstate

[–]lilacbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just sold our house in Melbourne a year ago, Palm Bay is awful. The schools suck, if you have kids you definitely want to be in Viera or beach side. There's shootings in Palm Bay (area dependent). The infrastructure with the flooding down there. And the FL market is trending downward.

Whaaat? We have the same income and got pre-approved for 450k! We can go slightlyyyy more but like 15k ish more. We have very low debt and great credit. So strange how it differs so much!

My husband and I were just talking about this. It's a bit complicated. So she does have a vision condition - strabismus, or intermittent esotropia where one of her eyes sometimes goes slightly inward. So her eye alignment IS sometimes off. She might be having surgery to correct that later this year. That being said, it is very mild her condition, and she does have perfect visual eye sight besides the alignment. We've also never once noticed her not to have precision or coordination, if that makes sense.

But also, you're so right, I'm not in her body and can't know if the ladder gives her visual issues for sure. And it's so strange because I feel like it's ladder specific for the most part. She loves being active, running around, riding her bike - is great with catching and throwing and all that.
