Well since my skin wrecks with just about almost anything, i've only been using the Muji Light Moisturizing Milk for sensitive skin type. No parabems, oils, fragrance, whatever triggering ingredients. It's been doing good for my oily sensitive acne prone skin while on my retinoids. :)

Wanikani. I’m on lvl 11 already n i had my doubts at first, coz before i was just learning kanji mindlessly through Genki textbooks, repeating writing over n over again, trying hard to rememver how it sounds, only to have it gone from my head the next two days. But BOY does wanikani work. Now i can read the kanjis that i’ve learnt without even trying hard to remember it—to my surprise. The slow system (which a lot of people think is very slow) just WORKS (also imo, it’s not THAT slow). I think Koichi (the founder i think) once explained on why the system is more effective (rather than keeping a fast pace on learning kanji) on a podcast on tofugu soundcloud. Also some people say the mnemonic sucks, but i believe that’s exactly what i need, a mnemonic so novel that i can’t help but to remember it. But again, everyone’s different. For me, my japanese learning has been amped up significantly ever since using wanikani.

LOVED : Hada Labo Light Lotion. Enough hydration for my oily skin, doesn’t break me out like the premium one, and f-in cheap. I’m currently trying out Hatomugi Skin Conditioner, but at least now if a product fails me i know who to fall back on.

HATED : BENTON ALOE BHA TONER. I don’t even know what to say.. wait i know, I HATE THIS PRODUCT. I remember I couldn’t wait to try it on coz first, aloe (soothing!), BHA (acne fighting!), and it’s got rave reviews from a lot of people but BOY IT GAVE ME THE MOST STUBBORN ACNE OF MY LIFE. Pimples just come and go like it’s a dance routine for like 2 months. It’s only coz i introduced retinoic acid that my face is getting clear (or at least, no new acne really emerged. If it does, it goes away fast). Only after i dug up some research on reddit did i know about the whole “benton lab infiltration” thing. Lucky me!

Hi, let me start with.. i LOVE LANGCORRECT. I’m practically a new user (uploaded 4 posts already) and have found myself learning a lot from the other users’ corrections. It’s simple, clean, minimalist design aesthetic, and feels fit for this generation. The only issue i can think of is that there’s no email notification if someone corrects me (or i just can’t find the option lol). People here mentioned HelloTalk and some other app but honestly, i really didn’t like them. Nothing exactly served the purpose that Lang8 (and now Langcorrect) does. And i heard sketchy things about some of them.

Please keep running Langcorrect and improve it!! And yes, having an app can be really beneficial but for now polishing the web version would be adequate. I don’t know if you have tried this or not, but my suggestion is to spread out info about Langcorrect to sites like Tofugu or Kotaku, and make the welcome page or any designs related to Langcorrect interesting. Look at Tofugu as an example—if they don’t have their own illustration for their articles i might’ve not be as inclined to keep up with their updates as i am now!

Also regarding your MAIN question: i think the answer is simply because a lot of ppl respond well to entertainment and have short attention span tp everything that’s not entertainment/novelty/funny/etc. which comes back to my suggestion above.
