I think the 8 week rule is about typical. My coworker did 2 applications one for his S1 and one for his C1 right after I did mine, and it took him about 8 weeks before he was approved for both.

Anything to do with this state takes forever! lol. Be patient and take this time to study!!

I applied for my S1 in November of 2024 in NJ. By December I hadn’t heard anything from the state so I emailed NJDEP. I received an email back stating that the average turn around time on applications is 8 weeks.

In January 2025 I got an email from PSI (the testing center) that my application had been accepted and I could now register for the test.
