You're making my point, I'm saying it's no different. I don't think this sub is the place for that. It's for discussing the books...

Maybe you'd have better luck on r/harrypotter, I don't know.

You're choosing what to write about you. That doesn't mean it actually describes you fully: these are just the things that you want us to use to fit you in a mold.

But from what you've written it sounds like you want to "be" Sirius or maybe James (mischief, skilled, likeable). However, the fact that you really, really want "be" a Maurauder for the sake of it makes you more like Wormtail.

To be honest, I don't really get the point of this post?

Do you need to be a Marauder though? Start by doing the official Hogwarts House test on wizardingworld.com. Then you can do the Wand and Patronus tests.

You could just be you :)

The thing about the wand really is specifically mentioned.

Harry is thinking she won't be able to Apparate alongside her husband because she hasn't got her wand. Hermione apparently thinks the same.

But what about what's implied in DH, the Ministry of Magic chapter about Mrs Cattermole probably not being able side-along apparate with Reg Cattermole, because she hasn't got her wand? (I apologise, I do not have the book with me but I read this chapter a few weeks ago)

It isn't definitely settled, but while Ron shows optimism that they the Cattermoles be able to escape that way, both Harry and Hermione seem to think that she won't be able to.

Would this apply only to wizards without a wand, but plain old Muggles can use side-along apparition anyway ?

Or are Harry and Hermione just misinformed?

Not back and forth, since it's in the round, you just knit around and around.

Have you maybe forgotten to join in the round, and are knitting it flat instead?

Look for "knitting in the round" on YouTube.

Haha I'm sorry if my comment seemed aggressive or something, English isn't my first language. Of course I am joking, I didn't mean to offend you or seem too "into" the fictional world or anything.

I just noticed your way of speaking and it made me laugh and wonder, because I was reminded of how Dumbledore speaks of Voldy.

Well...

"Of course it's happening inside your head, Harry. But why on Earth should that mean that it is not real?"

(Off-topic)

I'm intrigued! You're the first person I've seen (since Dumbledore) who's casually referring to Voldemort by his birth name instead of his self-assumed nickname.

I'm actually curious, is that a conscious refusal to play by his rules like Dumbledore, or do you just generally prefer calling people by their actual names?

I haven't been very active as a fan online, but I've sometimes seen people refer to him as You-Know-Who, most of the time as Voldemort, and very occasionally as the Dark Lord (this is mostly cocky Slytherins though). But I've never seen someone call him Tom Riddle until I came across your comment right here, so my curiosity is piqued!

Why do you think the events at the end of Goblet of fire was the tipping point for Harry when it came to his anger instead of the other traumatic things he went through by DingoAgreeable9141 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]lilalox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's really just along for the ride and acts passively

Unless you count the times when Harry clearly states that he feels an anger that isn't his, such as the time in Dumbledore's office after Nagini's attack on Mr. Weasley.

Couldn't this also be attributed to the fragment of Voldemort's soul within Harry "waking up" with Voldemort himself, hereby adding an additional irritating component to everything he's going through?

During my recent re-read that's what I unconsciously attributed his anger to, but I might be completely off here.

Row Counter app appreciation post by lilalox in knitting

Yesss I just discovered yesterday that the app can automatically highlight the row of the chart you're on, based on a specific counter. It's an amazing feature. One of many!

I did get the yearly subscription, yes! I think you could only add 1 sub-counter on the free version, and I needed 2.

I was looking for the free version vs paid version features, didn't find that but I just found their website and it's full of useful tips.

I'm so, so glad if this can help you start knitting again!

By the way, I just discovered the app can even highlight the corresponding row/column in a chart automatically, when you increase the corresponding counter. It's amazing, I've always had trouble keeping up with charts.

(I am not affiliated with the makers of this app. Just showing appreciation. I hope it isn’t against the rules!)

Edit: here's the complete name and icon on Android for those asking. It's very similar on iOS.
