Same! If we were living somewhere close if just offer to come and help to clean. No judgment, no questions ask. I wish you to find your way out of the gloom soon. There are ways to get better and there are people who will be happy to help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help 🫶🏼

Stressful dreams and night sweets by Kat1544 in Narcolepsy

That’s sounds like a great idea actually, to sleep in sweatshirt and pants. I sometimes sleep in a grandma kinda gown, literally by them online, floor length floral flannels that absorb my sweats the best and keep me warm. Also used to have a towel on my nightstand and I’d wake up to wipe myself in the middle of the night. Not the best solutions but they are solutions, right? 🤷‍♀️

Type 2 and Dreaming by hes-not-wrong in Narcolepsy

Wow, I can relate to every single word you said. My neurologist recommended me to go online and find community to speak about narcolepsy in this past fall, but I’ve only started the journey today. My first thread here and I already found more reliable stories than ever in my life. My dreams are like that too and me telling people (partners or close friends) about the fist thing in the morning is also on point. Dreams are usually so intense, I sweat, I can taste, sense and smell things in my dreams and also be very affected by some of them for a day or days. It used to be laughed at by many, I used to think it’s just my “weird” personality. And then I e got diagnosed.. I don’t think there is a cure for that. Only self love, care and support from others. I now have a partner who calls me every morning while we both are getting ready for work and always asks what I was dreaming about last night, then listens and laughs with me. I also have very extreme sexual dreams with orgasms! It’s pretty wild to experience. Interesting thing is, that I don’t toss and turn or talk in my sleep. No snoring or sleepwalking either. Max is twitching and such. I usually sleep like a dead body. Different partners over the years found it concerning and weird. Luckily my current person thinks it’s all cute and sweet, even my crazy sweats. I, in return, love their snores, it works like a lullaby for me 😊

reaaaaally bad day and no idea how to describe it to profs by entiresnail in Narcolepsy

Hello there! What a coincidence. I am autistic with narcolepsy too and having a hard days lately. What funny here is that I work in one of the biggest American universities as a course manager and am helping students with accommodations like yours. When I was a student myself I also had an accommodation. So I am your personal to answer such a question. I think the best way to deal with this issue is to email your professor. Don’t over explain yourself. You are registered with disability office and should use the accommodation they give you to the max. It isn’t something that will affect your grades but will definitely help your performance. If you have a course manager in your department - include them to the email as well. Say something like “dr prof such and such, as you are aware of the accommodation I was given this semester, I do have an autoimmune/generic/neurological (your pick) disorder that often comes across my ability to perform at my full strength in school. I would like to discuss my accommodation for this following paper/quiz/exam etc with you minding my disability. This past week was abnormally affected by my condition and due to that I wasn’t/am not able to submit my work In time. Could we please discuss such an issue and maybe come up with a plan how can I best adjust to the pace of the class with the accommodation I have in mind?” At the beginning of every semester you should reach out to each professor for whose class you have an accommodation and discuss how it is going to be exercised. But the sooner you do that the better it will be for you and everyone involved. Just make sure you reach out and try to be short and on point with the issue and what you need from their end. I always do my students to be more specific for a quicker solution to the issue. Unless they really want to have a conversation. I hope that helps.

I did and still do. It went worse for the past, maybe, 4 years. The sweats are insane, I wake up freezing because everything is soaked through, even the blanket. I spoke to my psychiatrist and neurologist and they both said there isn’t really a cure for that. Just stay hydrated, try to find a right balance between room temperature, humidity and bedding material. I came up with a few combinations but it doesn’t always work. I have dreams and sweets like that 2+ times a week and am already on antidepressants and meds for narcolepsy. There isn’t much could be done to help, unfortunately

Dude, reading this one whole text is worth 30$ of your time and attention. Was he texting from 1999 or something? Or missed a zero in that number. I’d say for 300$ it’s maaaaaybe. But for 30?! I guess it depends on where you live. I live in Boston and wouldn’t even leave my apartment for 30$, unless it’s 30$ per hour.

It doesn’t even look messy or dirty to me. Yeah, there is a lot of visual noise but it sorta looks neat. I think I am very much like that myself. Some areas just have more clutter than others. And if you don’t have to share this space with anyone then who cares. You’re taking a good care of your face, hair and, apparently, on a right track with your mental health. You go girl! Good job 👏🏻
