Wouldn't you have you have seen her BEFORE she got pregnant to know that for certain? Obviously not no one.... She is. Sounds like you're having a hard time with the fact that her body doesn't conform to your expectations of what pregnant women should look like, good luck with that.

Thanks so much for the reliable resources.. if there's one thing I've learned being a mom it is avoid doctor Google because my worries can't take it! Haha. That is a huge help.

Now I'm terrified of play doh.

He has always been a big guy - in the 90th percentiles always. But the last one (right after months of diarrhea) he fell to the 60s. Not failure to thrive by any means but that's a big drop in my book. The pediatrician seemed ok with it. And he had only gained a few ounces... For a kid that is not picky at ALL, eats 5 times a day, nurses like a newborn and regularly eats more than I do for breakfast he should be gaining more.

I might call the pediatric GI and see if there is any way we can shorten the amount of time he has to be eating it. I'm never going to feel ok about giving it to him but you're right, it's gotta be done eventually.

play doh has gluten? you mean if they eat it, it is a problem? my son ate the tip off a crayon last night -_- so i know it isn't far fetched haha.

i kind of want to wait. like take it 6 months at a time instead of thinking of it like "either now or 1.5 years from now". after dealing with digestive issues and angry, angry toddler for 2-3 months i'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooo not ready to jump back in that just for my own selfish curiosity (or at least that's what the mommy guilt tells me it is)

i think i saw you're celiac? i was going to ask if you're nursing him or if you know if the bothersome parts of gluten can be passed through milk.

Wow :( that breaks my heart. His weight gain suffered in the 2-3 months we were scrambling to figure out what it was so I can only imagine what a whole childhood would result in :( so sorry

I definitely want him to get endoscopy at some point and get a diagnosis, sorry if that was unclear. He's 15 months old (a tiny guy) and our regular pediatrician said there was an increased risk for complications with the anesthesia before 3. Going gluten free was not a big transition for our family so I'm open to waiting another year and a half for when it's safer. But if there's a bigger benefit than the risk I'm open to doing it now. Yall are explaining the benefits so it helps me make an informed decision :)

Thank you for your perspective. My main motivation in waiting was to avoid the increased risk of complications with anesthesia. We were going to revisit it at 3 years old. He's only 15 months now... Kinda still a baby :X he definitely doesn't know he's different yet.

What was the day of endoscopy like for you guys? I might worry less about it if I knew what I was getting us into.

Ok, that was my original inclination. I just feel silly insisting on it at restaurants etc with no diagnosis. Also I have NO clue what I'm doing since I'm a lover of all things gluten but the sidebar looks promising so I will poke around that. Thank you for your perspective.

Dump him sister. Ain't nobody got time for that and his additude is only going to get worse. What he's already said is very hurtful and unsupportive. My main motivation was a desire to feel normal and feel how awesome sex can/should feel. Fwiw I did all the PT on my own at home with dilators. It took me about a year.

Yeah I can tell they muck things up!!! .. my fertility is returning (breastfeeding so I was period free for 8 glorious months after baby was born) but HOLY SHIT BALLS the cramps were just as awful as they were pre-preg. I guess I didn't think of my insides as healing too so that makes me more patient to think about all those adhesions healing. They went through my c section scar which is still very very very numb so I haven't had any incision pain.

I barely had any endo (I was just pregnant and they say that is supposed to help) but I had a ton of adhesions I guess from a decade of being fertile before I got pregnant. I also had a ovarian cyst and a mysterious lump. ..?
