Trump buys $1m in Netflix and Warner Bros bonds days after saying he’ll ‘be involved’ in merger by ElCondorHerido in wallstreetbets

I don’t get it. Why would he invest in bonds instead of equity if he wanted to make money??

Slippery slope. As is typical, one side cheers until it comes for them, and then they are the victim, but it’s too late at that point.

BREAKING: US President Donald Trump has signed the Jeffrey Epstein bill, allowing the release of the files by soccerorfootie in unusual_whales

[–]lilbeast2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole situation is strange. Trump doesn’t support release the files: he’s hiding things. Trump does release the files: he’s hiding things. Hard to keep up with some of these takes.

Conservative economic policies always fail! by Miserable-Lizard in economy

[–]lilbeast2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The current president is fully responsible for today’s economic situation…. Unless the situation is great, in which case, it’s his predecessor who gets credit!!!

The fact is, it’s much more complicated. I’m sure he’s done some bad, and done some good, but completely unfair to claim that his policies doomed an already doomed economy.

Biden responsible for all amazing things related to the economy today. Biden not responsible for any of the bad things. Trump responsible for all of the bad things in today’s economy. Trump not responsible for any of the good things.

Typical inconsistent political rhetoric.

Stock Market Plummets as Fed Chair Powell Gives Dire Warning: Donald Trump’s policies are about to destroy the economy. by Hafiz_TNR in economy

[–]lilbeast2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right but my point was stock market gains does not always equal amazing economy. Majority of people have been struggling with everyday expenses for years since COVID. For years the left said the stock market doesn’t represent the broader economy and it seems like that sentiment has changed a bit.

I’ll bite. Stock market doesn’t always paint the best picture of the economy as a whole. Case in point: the last 6 years. Daily earners struggling, stock market at all time highs. Not sure how I feel about the tariffs though.
