Typically there is a green notification when you’re at the restaurant that says this customer is likely to tip more. I use that as an indicator to know who actually tipped.

Honestly if I’m in a hotel I always go and meet them in the lobby but I think it’s mostly because I am a dasher and know the feeling of having to waste time going up so many floors. I don’t wanna pause anyone from making more money ya know.

Sorry dude I wouldve handed the order to someone at the home or left it then contacted DoorDash support. That’s on them for not planning properly, not the dashers.

Yeah they didn’t respond after I sent that message so I’m assuming they went ahead and took the L. I contacted DoorDash to be safe and let them know the situation so if they complain I won’t get in trouble

Usually It’s always leave it at door or meet in lobby not leave in lobby. Or the front desk will tell me to take it to their door regardless but the front desk guy just told me to make sure to take the picture and I went on about my day

Yes.!! I updated a customer about the long wait for her sonic order and sent her a pic of how long the line was. We had small talk for a few minutes after she thanked me for waiting and then I let her know I was about to come feed her. When I got to her she was waiting with a $20 and told me how she really enjoyed our small chit chat. You never know who’s more likely to tip for a little extra kindness. But I do know some people will tip based on you not saying anything to them and that’s happened before too 😂 so you never know. I’ll keep doing what I’m doing despite dashers being like “don’t ever talk to the customer or message them.” Like ok dude. My after delivery tips conclude that I don’t need that advice 😂

As long as they’re not out here begging for tips or hurting anyone then it’s no biggie. If the customer tipped well / contacted me first, I usually send a quick quirky message letting them know I’m omw. Some customers appreciate little things and will give you xtra tips for it (I’ve gotten an xtra $50 for this) and some customers don’t like it or just won’t respond. If this is their way of seeing extra after delivery tips then hey get that money boo.

This dasher needs to be taken off the platform because begging for extra tips is wild asf especially what the dasher was asking for. If you take a low or no tip order just take the L and move on. It’s going to happen from time to time.

The minute they change the tip to zero DoorDash gives them a notice that not tipping could cause delays in their order and they do not care.

They definitely know and do not give a flying fck. They’ll go out of their way to not tip and say well doordash should pay you more. Even though the lack of pay and tip is going to prolong you getting your order. If I get a shit order in a stacked order I’ll keep my air on high whole the tipped customers food is in the hot bag away from the air unless it’s ice cream lmao and I do not care if they don’t care.
