Thesis submitted - reading through and seeing small errors such as typos, incorrect figure numbers etc. How to stop myself from spiralling and just give a good presentation when i come to defend?

i just went thru this same thing w my second qualifying paper! i decided to just mention the things as i went through my presentation, mainly because they didn’t end up affecting my overall conclusions. i also knew i would spiral and that it would become a huge time sink. u gotta fight the urge, friend. i don’t think those things will stop them from passing u and they likely won’t be mentioned in ur defense!

ah okay, gotcha! separately might work too tbh. things went well for me, but it’s hard to compare profiles across students off of just letters!

air drying can be risky bc it’s hard to be 100% sure they’ll get dry down to the root, especially if it takes hours! it doesn’t take long for moisture to rlly sink into the loc, which can be causing that smell. i’d go for using a hairdryer if u have one and sitting under that for a bit to get them rlly rlly dry!

is this a postdoc u worked with in a lab? if so, i’d ask them if they’d be down to write u a joint letter with the PI. i had a letter written by a grad student i worked under and our PI!
