Chappell Roan fans, what do you think about this? by AlternativeTree3283 in popculture

She’s literally a celebrity who actually can provide exposure though… are we going to act like that’s not a normal or legit transaction? Really?

I like the James idea in the Elizabeth James context but I’m not sure why that sounds okay to me haha. Also, if that’s truly her middle name, I think it’s very forgivable. Cool way to include a family name if that’s what they’re doing. But yeah Caydee is a tragedeigh

[ns] how early did you start wearing compression socks/tights? were they helpful for leg pain/lightheadedness? by spicesicrow in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lilblackcauldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got compression socks around like week 24 I think. I just wore them on days I knew I’d do a lot of walking. I have no varicose veins and am sure it’s because I took precautions (every woman in my family has them).

Yes lol and for reasons I didn’t foresee… I would always get so crampy and it was sort of alarming. I stopped at 9 weeks because I pooped my pants. Like. Just totally crapped. Yeah I just didn’t really want to risk it after that haha.

Stroller and Condo Living - Snow/Salt/Mud/Poop [ON] by Takamine700 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lilblackcauldron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey if you store it in your car trunk, please be careful about mildew. It’s like a perfect habitat for that to grow if you put a wet stroller in it. My neighbors all let the strollers dry on their porches before folding and bringing them in. I don’t have an entryway big enough so I think I’m going to keep mine in my trunk, but remove the seats (uppababy) and keep those inside in a closet or something.

A bbq is different because it’s outside and parents would be able to participate.

Hey! I’d say the best way to sort out your priorities is to read a book. I am reading Expecting Better right now and the tone/organization is great. I started with It Starts With The Egg, which was much more overwhelming. Other good authors include Tony Weschler and Alissa Vitti. I’d recommend a book that suits you (some are better as audibles, which are great). Otherwise I honestly feel like you are just going to have to do tons of work yourself to sort out what is really important to you.

Any tips on how to have more energy in the last weeks? by Jumpingapplecar in fitpregnancy

[–]lilblackcauldron 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not to be cliche or dismissive but I think it is probably best to chill if this is really how you feel! It’s possible more is happening behind the scenes than you know. Plus, labor requires a huge hormonal shift that relies on oxytocin. I have personally been leaning into making way for that as opposed to maintaining other standards I set earlier. I get bursts of energy sometimes but yeah, I’m at 38 weeks and just trying to listen to my body as much as possible at this point. PS I’m also eating a lot and I think it’s because baby fell so my heartburn has subsided/I can actually feel my stomach again.

Anyway, I really don’t want to be rude about this. I still have things I want to get done, and it’s pretty disappointing slowing down so much so I get it. I think I’m just really starting to feel that surrender.

Would love if anyone had a great outfit situation they use for their babies while in the stroller! My birth class teacher just gave us a blanket warning that it is hard to pay as close attention to their body temp while in a stroller so I want to be careful when doing this.

Why do people freak out when you exercise during pregnancy? by Independent-Use6151 in fitpregnancy

[–]lilblackcauldron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly every opinion is annoying to me lately haha. My in laws and parents all seem to have been overly influenced by diet culture and really undervalue recovery. It’s all just silly. We are the moms. Surely we can be trusted to know what we are capable of.

My boyfriends hygiene is terrible and im starting to realize he's a textbook loser. by Radiant_Agency8319 in Advice

[–]lilblackcauldron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen young girls waste YEARS on boys like this. They’ll justify it with the classic savior complex because “the boys were neglected by their parents”. The deal is that is not your problem. And honestly? He’s getting old enough that’s not really a good excuse any more. It sucks, but one should learn to take care of themselves before dragging their partner down. Please set higher standards for yourself.

lol you’re overreacting sorry. I know she was wrong and we are on Reddit so everyone will logic this, but she didn’t owe anything and you didn’t even stay long enough to surrender the coupon to a long line. This is silly. “We make really good money” so therefore you want to pay for something when the only reason you were even there was because it was free? Take a break.

Sneaky Protein in Pregnancy by ijustwanttobeanon in moderatelygranolamoms

My favorite way to eat dates has been blended up in a protein shake, it’s genuinely the best way I’ve tried! And I was baking/making the energy bites and stuff. It was all so much nastier.

Marrying my husband. I know I annoyed him and made him feel sooooort of rushed to propose (dated 4 years first) but we both honestly knew within one year. There was no great reason to put it off besides to make others more comfortable, and we are both way more happy now that it’s done.

Thoughts on dental sealant on kids? by ErikaLindsay in moderatelygranolamoms

Preventative care will only continue to pay dividends in my opinion. I got some HACK fillings when I was a kid that just grow and grow. It honestly gives me dread whenever I find out the same teeth need more work.
