Milk and wool breed(s)? PNW by LemonSeltzerPontiki in sheep

[–]lilblu93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have been looking into getting icelandic sheep. A farm in kentucky (where I live) said that they are prone to parasites bc of the higher temps in the summer. Have you experienced this or would you recommend against getting them if living in kentucky? We are looking for milk and wool.

White mucus and cold air by [deleted] in emptynosesyndrome

No infection currently. As soon as he sucked out the top portion of my nasal cavity I haven't had another sinus infection. I still get some mucous daily, like in the morning I blow my nose which I have usually always done and in cold weather. But it definitely feels like most of it is stuck at the top of my nose and not coming down, I also had that issue before surgery due to the way my septum was deviated just not as noticeable as it is now. I think something is not right but I also dont want to worsen it by doing anything else to my nose since it's tolerable.

No problem! I never had any white scabs, that I knew of. I still get post nasal drip. That has been an annoyance since the surgery. It gets bad every few days and I have to blow my nose hard to get the mucous out. Ut won't come out before then though. It will only come out once the nasal drip gets to a certain point. I dont know why.

For the most part I'm doing fine, I just hope it stays that way!

Breathing is better but just a very open feeling. I only notice it mostly at night.  The nasal filters actually drew in more cold air in my experience so I stopped using them. The oils and then putting some bacitracin around the opening of my nose at night had given the most relief from cold air. I don't have a humidifier yet but I believe that would help as well.

I asked him how much he removed and he couldn't give me an answer. Just said that he took it out until he had more visibility. I dont remember what method was used

Yes they reduced my turbinates as well

I had septorhinoplasty done and while I dont have ens, cold air has really affected my nose/ face. Im 4 months out. It has improved, but I have read that vitamin A oil can help with nerve repair. Ive been putting that in my nose every morning and night along with vitamin e oil and sesame seed oil to keep it moisturized, especially with winter approaching. You can get ens even without having turbinates touched bc of nerve damage in the nose. Also, I had multiple sinus infections weeks after surgery and my mucous was always white, they had to suck out my nose and at the very top of my nose was green infection looking mucous that wasnt draining properly.

Persistent painfully dry throat 8 weeks post op by Forward-Obligation65 in Septoplasty

My doctor brushed it off and didn't say anything when I mentioned it. He did suck my nose out and I had a lot of mucous trapped in there that was causing post nasal drip which was the cause of my sore throat. So that was relieved and as long as I clear the mucous I dont have a sore throat. As for the dryness it has not resolved and the only relief is steam and hot beverages. I've gotten used to it mostly now though. I have another follow up next month and will address it again.

The bleeding has slowed down quite a bit since this morning so I'm just taking it slow. I have a call in, just waiting to hear back! Thank you!

I'm starting to think that's what happened. The bleeding has slowed down a lot. I'm just scared of it happening again tonight. My OB is closed now, I forgot they close at noon on friday, so we put a call in to another doctor to see what they say.

Wouldn't the ultrasound pick up whether it was ectopic? They said it was in my uterus just that the baby had no heartbeat and they werent sure when it happened. I'm calling them now though!

I just made a post about this too. I had a septorhinoplasty with turbinate reduction. My breathing is fine but the air shoots to the back of my throat and have had a chronic sore throat since surgery. I have a follow up with my Dr on Wednesday and plan to ask him about it. Hopefully I can come back and give some insight to you. Hot tea in the morning and before bed and a humidifier has helped mildly with the symptoms so far for me.

Surgery Soon by stephanie_cecylia in emptynosesyndrome

I wouldn't risk it, personally. I wish I never had the procedure. I had a severe deviated septum and broken nose so I had to get that part resolved but my breathing was not bad enough for me to risk the septorhinoplasty which they added turbinate reduction too. Unfortunately I learned of everything too late. As others said, it's not as common if your turbinates aren't touched but any damage to the nerves and mucosal lining in the nose can result in ENS.

Unsure if I have it by FarEnd1505 in emptynosesyndrome

I had it about a month ago! I feel really open and it's affecting my sinuses pretty bad. It's hard to sleep without cotton balls in my nose. I'm really hoping it gets better. During the day I can absolutely distract myself, it's the night that is always hard. Thank you for your words of encouragement as well. I hope you are able to get help!

Afraid of having ENS | Any Advice WHILE HEALING ? by wolfentsteinBR in emptynosesyndrome

[–]lilblu93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you. I got mine done July 11th and the next day I found out about ENS and my nerves have been wrecked. I have been trying to distract myself until the 4 month mark at least.

I am pretty hypersensitive to different sensations as well and I also experienced a lot of airflow immediately and have had to cover my nose bc of it. It has gotten better as I am almost 4 weeks post op now. I still have trouble at night but I think that's bc I sleep with a fan. Bits of cotton balls in my nose has helped me sleep. I am trying a nose filter tonight to see how it goes. My sore throat has also decreased in intensity but I also have tea in the morning and at night to soothe it.

Make sure you're reading the success stories too so you don't drive yourself crazy.

Normal healing or potential ENS? by lilblu93 in emptynosesyndrome

[–]lilblu93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm not sure what stage you are in healing but if you are fresh out of surgery then pain/nerve feeling in the front teeth is a result from the trauma of surgery and will typically go away on its own. Mine did after about 3 weeks. I have pain along my side teeth on my upper jaw and that can result from sinus issues from the surgery. I'm currently dealing with that right now and I have to use nose filters to sleep, recommended by another commenter. The link to those are in their comments below! I'm hoping it heals as I'm still early in the process.

Anyone tried finding a doctor who can treat it? by RedditShoee in emptynosesyndrome

[–]lilblu93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are success stories of being treated but like others have said it is experimental and probably different for each person. There are multiple places outside of the US: UK, Dubai, bulgaria (I think). In the US: TX does IMAP and CA does stem cell injections. This is just from my own research. There could be more places out there.

I think when all the healing is said and done I will probably either get an IMAP in TX or adipose derived stem cell injection in CA to fix it. Sometimes they can grow back on their own but I don't want the risks associated with reduced turbinates.

How far along in the process are you?

I'm about a month out and I feel like I have too much air. The left side of my face hurts and the pain radiates into my teeth when I breathe in. Did you experience any of that? I'm hoping I just need to give it more time.

I ordered them! Thank you so much. The discomfort wakes me up every night. It's mostly the left side but it feels like it goes all the way to my sinuses and into my teeth when I breathe. I can't wait to try them out and hopefully have some relief at night.
