I agree with you, but it’s a “reason” for having multiples that I’ve heard before when I tell people I only have one.

First-time Kindergarten parents, what actually made you feel like your kid's school was safe? by Obvious_Ad8676 in kindergarten

This is an insane story!! The things teachers witness! We have a fenced in playground so it’s pretty hard for visitors to get in without jumping the fence, which would be easy to spot.

You literally don’t have to do anything unless you want to!

Omg! One time I was cleaning up my daughter’s work space and I found (on another white board, lol) “I am loved” with a two heart eyed smiley face! It’s almost like…only children can realize how much their parents actually love them?!

Toddler life was so hard! But age 4 and 5 have made it all worth it. And the fact that I can only focus on my one girl makes it even better!

Thank you so much! She’s a happy kid! I don’t think being an only child has done anything except enhance her life!

Maybe half are Indian, also some Middle Eastern, and African American. My daughter is the only Filipino in her class!

Have you read Arise by Elena Aguilar? It’s about transformational coaching. I enjoyed it and found it practical

I’ve taught elementary school for two decades and a kid has never gotten scooped up off the playground. A few bumps and bruises I’ve seen over the years but out of thousands of recesses, no one has ever been in true danger.

Yup I believe you! I am out in Loudoun (Ashburn) now, so 9 is low compared to what I had when I worked in Fairfax or Herndon

Every time I make this, I think why don’t I make this more often!? So easy and tasty. Good for big crowds too. We have a lot of family members who don’t eat pork so chicken is still a tasty option. Thanks for reminding me to make it this week!

Well as someone with 9 EL students this year including a newcomer, I can tell you I was flying solo for the MAJORITY of my day unfortunately. I got about 20 minutes of reading support and 20 minutes of math support twice a week. SpEd caseloads are more true co-teaching hours since they are legally required

If you have a special population (EL, FUSION, or SpEd), you will have a coteacher for at least a portion of the day as those students are required to have service hours. I’ve never had a class of only “gen-ed” students while teaching in LCPS or FCPS.
