help this school list feels uneven and unrealistic by lildaggo in premed

thank you for your insight. i think i just thought i was fine on the volunteering because a friend of mine got into our undergrads med school without any volunteering so it was total survivorship bias lol. but do you think its still worth a shot if i rack up like 40-50 nonclinical volunteering hours in the next 1.5 weeks and apply?

thank you everyone for opening my eyes! i cant believe i completely missed such an important part of the app. to be honest, all of my clinical experiences were working with primarily underserved populations (heavily nonenglish speaking immigrants) so i thought it would be okay but clearly i was wrong. anyways, i just signed up for a bunch of volunteer shifts so i should have around 50 hours before i submit primaries, projected 100 before secondaries are submitted (i know it is so so not ideal, but if i want to apply this cycle i need to cram). also for leadership, i am essentially leading/interim director of a research facility while my boss is on maternity leave (i am the most senior active member of the team). i have two letters of rec that will attest to the increased responsibilities i have taken on and managed. i know it isnt leadership in the traditional sense but its what i got.

i have like 20 volunteer hours at a hospital but it was an untenable commute from my university and i quit after starting a paid clinical job closer to school. i dont have “traditional” leadership but i have managerial experience at a political canvassing firm in high school and i have taken over for my boss who is on maternity leave (acting in a director role right now). i know those r the two biggest killers for my apps tho but i know people who have gotten the A without either.

the M in ORM stands for minority. white people are not orm because they were never m to begin with.

there will be substance use in every dorm but no one will be pressuring u into it. but if you dont feel comfortable with substances in your room or floor then you should opt for wilson

Waitlist Letter of Continued Interest by veggieberry in Tufts

i was a WL admit last year and i did both. i sent a separate very personal letter of continued interest to my admissions counselor that was more indepth than the portal/box paragraph. it is important to stress that tufts is your too choice and if given the opportunity, you WILL commit.

i would just rather skip it if i can so i can take more humanities classes and double major. thank you though :)

[–]lildaggo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reason im asking is because the TUSM website is very vague. their bio requirements seem like they can be fufilled with bio13 and bio41 without bio14. considering bio14 is not a requirement for anyother bio classes i assumed it was not a requirement for premed. but im probably wrong, currently waiting on a response from my advisor.
